Venus is the second-most planet from the Sun in the Milky Way galaxy's Solar System.
During the Golden Age, Venus was considered a "paradise,"[1] and the world was colonized by humanity. During this time, Venus was home to a human scientific research settlement that is now in ruins, swallowed by jungle and falling into the Venutian ocean.[2][3]
Venus is also home to a massive Vex stronghold, a looming tower of geometric shapes that they vigorously defend.[2][3]
Inhabitants
There are "Combatants" on Venus.[4] The Vex are present,[2][3] but it is unconfirmed whether other combatants are as well.
Locations
Venus is home to a number of locations that can be visited by Guardians. Below is a complete list of the known locations on Venus.
- Citadel - speculated to be on Venus[citation needed], concept art of the Citadel depicts it to be a green, jungle-choked building posing as a Vex stronghold[citation needed].
- Maat Mons - an exotic, yet chaotic, area home to the Crucible map Shores of Time.
Trivia
- The work of Peter Gric influenced the look and feel of Venus[citation needed].
- Due to its geysers and sulfure pits, the surface of Venus has been compared to that of Yellowstone National Park.[5]
