Vanguard Marks were a currency used to purchase Vanguard weapons, armor, and resources from Vanguard vendors in the Tower.[1] A Guardian could earn Vanguard Marks beginning at level 18, but they were limited to earning a maximum of 100 per week and an inventory cap at 200. Vanguard Marks were awarded for completing Public Events, Strikes in the Strike playlists, Daily Heroic Story Missions, Weekly Heroic Strikes, and the level 28 Prison of Elders arena.
With the release of The Taken King, Vanguard Marks were retired and replaced with Legendary Marks. Guardians' existing Vanguard Marks were converted to Vanguard Commendations at a rate of 50 Marks to 1 Commendation.[2]
