- For Uldren Sov's resurected form, see Crow.
Uldren, later known as Blackwater, was an Awakened prince. He was also the advisor, enforcer, and spymaster of his sister, the Reef Queen Mara Sov. Following Mara's presumed death during the Saturn War, he established himself as the leader of the Scorn and orchestrated an escape from the Prison of the Elders. He is responsible for Cayde-6's death.
Following his death at the hands of Uldren Sov, The Guardian and Petra Venj, he was resurrected as the Guardian by the Ghost known as "Pulled Pig", who was later renamed "Glint". He is the main antagonist of Destiny 2: Forsaken.
Biography[]
Reef Spymaster[]
While studying social media and planning to meet Fallon, Aldrin realized that a group of Fallon women could take communication and collaboration to the next level. As Theon watches the world burn, the Duke's guards decide to attack the city one last time. And Flynn decided against Twilight. Sirius was crossing Wolf Lake when the wolves suddenly woke up and attacked the boat. The soldiers spread the flag on the ground. The old house was torn down by wolves.
Destiny[]
Aldern and Mara arrive to give the key to the Guardian, allowing him to enter Vix Black's garden. Although the guard did not want to help, he believed it was a futile suicide. After the warden finds the key and returns to Mera with Olton, Olton removes the essence of the enemy's head from the gate and secures entrance to the Black Garden. As the guard leaves, Olton stands at the door to greet him.
The Taken King[]
At the onset of the Taken War, Mara Sov organized a massive assault on Oryx's Dreadnaught. Its power proved too much for the Awoken armada, however, as it sent out a massive energy pulse, destroying most of the fleet.[1] Uldren escaped alive in his fighter and crashed in a cavern located in Hellas Basin, Mars.[2]
Post Taken War[]
Later, Uldren found a dying Fallen named Fikrul and wished to save him.[3] Riven, an Ahamkara, granted this wish, corrupting Fikrul's Ether and turning him into the Fanatic, the first of the Scorn.[3]
Uldren later turned himself in to the Reef[4] and was put into the Prison of Elders by a strike team, including Jolyon Till. Petra Venj asked Uldren what he believed Mara was saying to him. Uldren replied Mara wanted him to free her before a bag was placed over his head by Cayde-6.[5]
Forsaken[]
In the prison, Fikrul persuaded Variks, the Loyal to free all the prisoners,[6] leading to Cayde-6 and the Guardian investigating the Prison riot. After Pirrha, the Rifleman destroyed Cayde's Ghost, Sundance, Uldren stole the Ace of Spades and used it to kill Cayde.[7] As the Guardian arrived soon after, Uldren taunted his opponent by showing off the Ace of Spades, remarking that Cayde didn't feel a thing.[7]
After seizing the throne, Uldren slaughtered any Awoken who didn't swear fealty to him, sending the survivors into hiding, and offered the Scorn Barons free rein of the Tangled Shore.[8] After the Barons departed his presence, Uldren started hallucinating Mara, who encouraged him to exterminate all their people. With that, Uldren set Mara's throne on fire and departed.[8]
While the Guardian began relentlessly hunting the Barons, Uldren made his way to the European Dead Zone, where he used Cayde's gun to uncover a shard of the Traveler. Subsequently, he narrowly avoided being shot by Petra, thanks to "Mara". Petra was then forced to flee as Fallen began hunting her.[9]
Returning to the Tangled Shore, Uldren used the shard to enter the Awoken Watchtower that his sister ordered Petra to seal. As the Guardians pursued him, they could hear Uldren being tormented by "Mara" to free her. Ultimately, as he used the shard and his own Darkness to open the gateway to the Dreaming City, what emerged was not Mara, but a Taken creature called the Voice of Riven. After the Guardian slayed the abomination was Uldren freed. Cornered by both the Guardian and Petra, Uldren adamantly declared that everything he did was for Mara.[10] It is unsure if the Guardian or Petra Venj killed Uldren. However, Osiris implied in his secret transmission to the Guardian, "The Unclaimed Lightbearer", that it was the Guardian who pulled the trigger.
Uldren Reborn[]
A few months later, Uldren Sov was revived by the Ghost known as "Pulled Pork" and became a Guardian called the Crow. He eventually renamed Pulled Pork to Glint.[11] It is theorized that at some point after, he reunited (unknowingly) with his sister, Mara, as stated by the Emissary of The Nine's quote to the Young Wolf: "The Queen and her Hunter sends their regards", although this could possibly be a reference to Eris Morn.
The Spider later found Uldren wandering the Tangled Shore and took him under his employ, knowing the reception he would receive if he were to go to the Tower. Secretly, the Spider fitted Glint with a bomb in case the former prince were to go rogue.
The Crow was later dispatched to the Moon to find Osiris and bring him before the Spider. He saved the Lightless Warlock from a Hive Knight at the same time the Young Wolf arrived. At the prompting of Glint, the Crow introduced himself.
Upon his return, the Crow experienced his employer's displeasure at Osiris' absence. The Spider then dismissed him that he might speak with the Guardian in private. Subsequently, the Crow met with the Guardian to discuss how to hunt down the Wrathborn and eventually the High Celebrant of Xivu Arath.
The Crow later pursued the High Celebrant in tandem with the Guardian through the Dreaming City and the Ascendant Plane. At one point, the High Celebrant broke his legs and tossed him away. Ultimately, the Crow left the task to the Guardian, who managed to kill the powerful Hive Knight. As a reward, the Spider offered the Guardian any prize from his lair and surprisingly, the Guardian chose the Crow, which the Spider begrudgingly acquiesced. After stepping outside Spider's lair, the Crow asked why the Guardian freed him, to which the Guardian proclaims that Crow is also a Guardian.
Season of the Chosen[]
During Season of the Chosen, the Crow became a Hunter, but wore a mask on Osiris' advice to hide from the City's ignorance, and would help the Guardian with Saladin, Osiris, and Amanda Holliday during the Battlegrounds. Crow and Amanda became fast friends, and went out for drinks on multiple occasions. Amanda also introduced Crow to Saint-14.[12] Zavala was out in the Gardens one night and saw an unmasked Uldren looking at him and Uldren told him that a Psion was there to kill him, Zavala then turned to see that Uldren had vanished. After the Proving Grounds strike, the Cabal, Zavala, and Uldren, met up to discuss Caiatl's promise. A Psion been positioned on a ledge behind Caitil, unbeknownst to either parties. It then attempted to eliminate Zavala’s Ghost. The Crow attempted to retrieve the goods but was overwhelmed by another Psion, the mask that Osiris had gave him broke off, revealing his true identity to Zavala. Zavala is now having the Crow do reconnaissance missions in order to keep his identity safe.
Season of the Lost[]
Crow later joined Saint-14 and the Guardian in search of Osiris, whom the late Lakshmi-2 claimed helped her unleash the Vex on the City. They soon found him with Mara herself. She was surprised to see her brother before realizing he had no memory of his past life as Uldren. "Osiris" was soon revealed to be Savathûn, having abducted the real Osiris before Crow encountered him.
Deeply upset, Crow demanded to speak with Savathun but Mara and Petra refused him, fearing he would be deceived as he was in the past. Eventually, Crow gained an audience with Savathûn and upon touching her crystal prison, was flooded with memories of his life as Uldren. Traumatized by this revelation, Crow begged Ikora to reassign him as far away from Savathûn as possible.
Personality[]
Uldren is knowledgeable, clever, and loyal to his sister. As a spymaster of the Reef, he has often disagreed with the Queen, but she valued his alternative perspectives. Conversely, he complied with the Queen's decisions, even when they were against his will. He is distrustful of outsiders and often comes off as arrogant and condescending to other races. His relationship with other inhabitants of the Reef can become strained due to his condescending and negative attitude. Despite his flaws, his skills in intelligence gathering and resourcefulness make him a valuable leader for the Reef.
Uldren has an uneasy relationship with Guardians, deeming them untrustworthy. During the events of Destiny, he disagreed with giving away the location of the Black Garden, despite the threat of the Vex. Uldren disagreed with his sister's growing allegiance to Guardians and the Vanguard.
After the defeat of Oryx and the loss of his sister, Uldren has become more ruthless and cruel. During the events of Forsaken, he willingly betrays the Reef and allies himself with the Scorn in an attempt to return his sister. He was, however, tricked by Riven, Voice of the Thousands into releasing the Taken into the Dreaming City.
His current personality is unknown, as when he was revived as a Guardian, Uldren Sov lost all memory of his previous life and actions. However, we do know that Uldren wears a helmet, so as to avoid conflicts with other Guardians that may recognize his past life. Also, according to the Beyond Light Bungie ViDoc he goes by the name of Crow and works closely with Osiris.
He utilized his "Crows", agents and surveillance devices to keep tabs on the activities of other races throughout the solar system. He was more reluctant to become involved in matters outside the Reef, which leads to disagreements with Mara.
Quotes[]

- "No. But I do have a bullet - with your name on it."
- "The line between light and dark is so very thin. Do you know which side you're on?"
- "Everything I did... I did for HER."
