  • Cayde- 6: Guardian, you've done it now.

Commander Zavala told you to be ready for war. Valus Ta'aurc was a speck, a mote of dust compared to the entirety of the war machine of the Cabal. But since when has killing an army leader ever turned out well? It hasn't happened yet.

Those Centurions on the Dreadnought were a nice touch. Gave the 'act of war' bit a little more... heat.

And you thought the Cabal wouldn't get sick and tired of us slaying their high ranking military officials? Nah. Couldn't ever happen.

Until the entire hierarchy is breathing down our necks.

Zavala: You brought this upon us, Guardian. War.

War is the mother of freedom, pride, and love. But it also spawned hatred, opression, and fear. War is the flame creates nations, kings.

War is the forge of Gods.

Artemis strolled across the Traveller's Walk, twirling her knife around her finger. A couple of Guardians stood in a cluster around Lord Saladin, retrieving Iron-Banner styled gear. She didn't much care for that, but if needed she'd wear it. She shoved the knife back into the sheath on her hip.

The sun was setting, and the mountains were covered in a burning orange. Fire seemed to dance on the coats of ice which formed on the ridges. Beauty was hard to come by in this world, Artemis thought. But, it used to be everywhere. Earth, Venus, Mercury, the Moon, Mars... all beautiful. Mercury had been her favorite planet, with its lush gardens.

But now, it was gone. All of it. Nothing but dust and echoes now. Humanity was fighting just to survive.

The Huntress sighed, and threw her knife at the skull of a Knight mounted on her wall. It impacted and stuck right between the eyes. There were so many...

She picked up her MIDA Multi-Tool and pushed it onto the maglocks on her back.

"Gettin' sentimental again..." she mumbled to herself. Time to get some target practice.

    • Name: Primus Num'raul

      Race: Cabal

      Class: Centurion

Weapons: -Slug rifle(Wrist mounted) -Sharryx's demise -Solar grenade

Armor: -Cabal war helm laced with Hive bones -Cabal war plate laced with Hive bones, with a Hive knight skull pauldron -Cabal war greaves, laced with Hive bones. -Cabal war boots, laced Hive bones.

Appearance: -At fist glance he may appear to be adorned with your average every day Cabal Primus armor. But a closer look will reveal that his armor his decorated with trophies claimed from battling a splinter fleet of Oryx's armada out in the edge of the solar system. Much of his armor has dents, and void burns around it kept around only due to a lack of supplies out in deep space. But what is truly the biggest scar of the all is that half of skull has been replaced with a cybernetic implant, constructed by his most skilled psions with pieces of the Glaciem Malleus itself melted down to provide a suitable shell. The primus required the need to have such an implant after his arch enemy, Primus Ma'carn, nearly destroyed half of his skull with his powerful arc hammer during a fateful battle in the orbit of Europa. (God Emperor, vs Horus.)

Personality: -After having half of his skull removed along with parts of his original brain, being substituted with neural implant devices, it if of no doubt that the Primus himself has had his sanity slowly degrading ever since his fateful injury. But, what furthered his degrading sanity was his campaign against the Taken armies around the orbits of Jupiter at the edge of the solar system. During this conflict he was forced to fight his own corrupted brethren, with much of the legion's original size being reduced to a fraction of what it once was the primus blamed himself for such losses. It did not help that much of his old command structure had staged multiple attempted mutiny's against him, once their faith in his leadership had been eroded away by time spent out in the void of space. After facing all of this the Primus has been reduced to a paranoid, bitter, and cruel leader who will accept nothing less that undying loyalty, and fanatical devotion from those beneath him.

Bio: After the Fallen house of Storms had raided a Cabal warzone on Mars, Primus Num'raul was tasked with their destruction. With the aid of their brethren legion the Storm Juggernauts, led by their primus Ma'carn, they were able to beat back the Fallen into a corner ready to deal the death blow with their ketch out of the way for good, and their forces routed. It was then that Nu'mraul discovered that Ma'carn had struck a deal with a fireteam of guardians to help the legions defeat the Fallen on the frigid world.(Heh chaos gods) Seeing that Ma'carn had been conspiring with enemies of the Cabal empire, Num'raul branded him a traitor and mobilized his forces to eliminate any under his command, as well as Ma'carn himself. As the legion's attentions turned on each other, a large battle ensued on the ground and in the space above Europa. Land tanks stormed across the icy tundra in attempt to siege the firebase of the traitors, while the fleets of the two primusi engaged above. As the firebase was evacuated much of the land tanks were destroyed in rupturing of the glacier as the ice split in two, many machines were sucked into it's maw never to be seen again. In orbit the battle raged on as Num'raul ordered his legionares to board the flagship of the Storm Juggernauts, the Vita Extinctor IX.(Blood angles and the emperor board Horus's flagship) The boarding teams inflicted much damage upon the flagship but were ultimately beaten back as their leader, Num'raul, was struck down by the skill of Ma'carn.(Sanguine is killed by Horus) If it were not for the intervention of the psion flayer Xeros, primus Num'rual would not have survived that battle. Only the primus, and the psion rescue team was able to escape the Vita Exctinctor and retreat back to the Glaciem Malleus. As Ice Hammers had sustained heavy casualties, not to mention the damage Glaciem Malleus has suffered, they were forced to retreat into the void of space. For years they were presumed dead by the Cabal high command, and there was no doubt in Num'raul's mind that Ma'carn had poisoned the minds of the high command into believing his actions were justified. So the legion drifted aimlessly in space endlessly trying to sustain the life of their primus with a life support system designed by Xeros himself. Eventually, Num'raul was revived once the psions were able to construct his implant and salvage what was left of his skull. But, just as the legion rejoiced in the revival of their true leader the Hive descended upon them.

A splinter fleet of the main armada of Oryx they say encountered the fractured legion over the orbit of Jupiter. The campaign lasts several months as they attempted to board the flagship of the Hive knight known simply as Sharryx the devourer. For weeks, and weeks the firing of broadsides and slug rifles never ceased until the ammunition had run dry. In their desperation they crafted a multitude of swords, axes, and spears from the decaying hull of the Glaciem Malleus itself. Num'raul fancied himself a mace which he would later use to slay Sharryx, but until then the Ice Hammers were left with no ammo and variety of fuel-less vehicles. In a bold attempt to win the battle the Ice Hammers boarded the flagship of the Hive, though not with conventional boarding pods, but with the Glaciem Malleus itself. They rammed at top speed into the broadside of the Hive ship, the craft tore through the hull of the flagship giving an opening for the legionares of the Ice Hammers to thrust pack their way into the dark corridors of the Hive vessel. As the battle raged on Num'raul eventually slew the Knight champion Sharryx, its soul became infused to his mace giving the weapon a much darker power, and potency in combat. Eventually the rest of the fleet sent the rest of their usable harvesters to evacuate the legionares as they prepared to detonate the Glaciem Malleus as it was lodged inside of the Hive ship. The NLS was rigged to explode along with the reactor, and several unused tactical warheads. The result was devastating with much of the Hive fleet being obliterated as they closed in to support the main flagship, even the fleeing Cabal craft had just narrowly escaped the blast and were hit with large energy surge. The effects of which would not be noticed later.

It came to Nu'raul's attention that the Hive fleet he had just destroyed was part of a much bigger fleet. Sensing a shot at redemption, and a chance to spare the lives of countless Cabal soldiers he set a course for Mars. To their horror the NLS drives powering the fleet had cut out around two thirds of the way to Mars, no doubt due to the energy surge they'd suffered earlier. So the legion waited in cryro sleep endlessly hoping to emerge on Mars in about a few hours, little did they know that it would be years before they ever entered the atmosphere of Mars.

Side Notes: -Sharrxy's demise is mace glowing with green fire, and darkness. The bone heart of the champion has been embedded into the center of the handle, and its soul as been absorbed into the weapon by unknown means. It shatters the minds of its targets once it strikes them, not only breaking bone, but breaking their minds as well.

    • The sands of the Rubicon erupted as two mighty armies clashed amongst the dunes, Vex machines formed organized assaults against lines of phalanxes, as the Cabal began to sustain heavy casualties. Bracus Sho'arn was the only commander remaining after the previous waves, the bastards just won't stop coming he thought to himself; throughtout the night him and his fellow legionares had fought to defend this strategic point for the empire, and Sho'arn feared that they wouldn't last another.

The Bracus stood waiting vigilant along with five other legionares, under the cover a network of trenches and bunkers designed for sieges like this. The only problem for them was that casualties had exceeded over seventy-five percent, and the Vex were jamming their distress signals. Suddenly, over the dunes appeared a massive army of Vex machines that almost immediately began to fire upon the astonished defenders. Shots fired from line rifles struck down three of Sho'arn's comrades before they had time to react, while the Bracus and his remaining soldiers ducked down behind cover to avoid the next volley.

"Ko'tharn go to the western side of the defense line and tell them that they've launched the next wave," the Bracus paused in shock as a slap grenade detonated just in front of the bunker, "Tell them to send aid."

Without hesitation the legionare darted out of the room, and into the trench network. Slug rifles and projection rifles returned fire against the horde of machines, but their effects were little at best; there were simply too many to kill, and too few Cabal to fight them off. A trio of minotaurs rushed the line, their torch hammers made short work of cutting down the barriers and Cabal alike. They leaped into the trenches with great speed and turned their attention to the Bracus and his pair of bodyguards. Flanked without any cover the two bodyguards were swept away by the minotaurs leaving the Bracus to fend for himself. Acting quickly Sho'arn unloaded his slug rifle into the nearest minotaur just before he activated his thrust pack, the Bracus catapulted himself towards the machine ramming it into the wall with his shoulder as he tore its single eye from its socket using his other fist. The remaining minotaurs rushed the Bracus grabbing him oby the arm they threw him across the room with an incredible amount of force; Sho'arn kringed in pain as he felt his ribs break from the impact. The minotaurs then slowly approached the Bracus, silently gazing at him with an ominous look about them.

The Bracus looked around him and all he saw was death, Cabal everywhere he saw were cut down mercilessly by the Vex horde. He took out his bond knife and place it up to his chest, as he closed his eyes and stared at the ceiling awaiting his iminent death at the hands of the mechanical monsters. But, his salvation was at hand as Harvesters and Cabal legionares led a mighty counter attack against their foe. The minotaurs that once threatened Sho'arn soon laid riddled with slug rounds as a squad of Cabal stormed the room.

The Bracus opened his eyes to surprise as he saw the Primus himself; Ko'tham.

"Thank the emperor your still alive Sho'arn," Ko'tham stated. He was flanked by several bodyguards who's armor was lavishly decoarated with service medals, and trophies.

"In time like these we need more soldiers like you," the Primus continued.

"Primus we shall attend to his medical concerns, you on the other hand are needed on the front," two medics explained.

"Very well," Ko'tham continued, "Legionares to war!" after this command the team departed on route to the dunes that surrounded the trench work. Squads of phalanxes formed shield walls as they were followed up by legionares and of course the Primus's command squad.

"Get those Harvesters into flanking position we need those Goliaths now!" exclaimed the Primus as he spoke through intercomms.

His orders were followed to the letter as three Harvesters flanked the Vex battle line, from the dropship emerged two Goliath tanks and a Squad of Imperial legionares lead by a Centururion. Their supporting fire tore through the horde in flashes of solar light, and fury. As the main force attacked from the front with utmost prejudice and strength. But, strangely enough the Vex stood their line as effective and orderly as they did before; the machines regrouped and returned fire with extreme coordination and efficiency. However, no matter how fearless or coordinated the Vex were they could not withstand the firepower of the Cabal as they encircled them, the tides had turned and the battle seemed lost to the machines.

In the aftermath of it all Vex parts, and Cabal corpses littered the dunes and trenchworks of the Rubicon. The red sands of Mars had been painted black with oil, and Vex substance curiously enough however this was not to be the end of their current troubles. For two large Cabal warships approached the surface of Mars, closing the distance from orbit to ground with astronomical speed, fire engulfed the crafts as they made their descent towards the surface of the red planet; red hot trails of fire scarred the sky, and thousands turned their heads to determine just what the hell was going to strike the sands of Mars.

    • Vesuvius calmly walked around the Tower Plaza, with Hereafter slung over his shoulder. Somehow, he knew a job was coming to him. While scouting, he found some...odd. Things. Traces of Slug Burns of Exiled Fallen on the Moon, destroyed Vex...

"Well, something's coming. Might as well get ready." He said, loading his weapons and heading for the Hall of Guardians.

Suddenly, his Ghost sparked to life.

      <How do you know?>

"Remember those odd, dead Fallen we found on the Moon? I'd say a target is out there." He says, calmly walking past Shaax and Arcite.

      <Well...I doubt it. But, you're the boss.>

    • (Also, her heavy is now Sol Edge. I'll change her page after this.)

Zana was in a heated match of Clash, fighting inside of what used to be and still is the home of the Sunbreakers. Her team was behind, the match was looking dire. She decided to change that.

A Hunter saw her and launched an attack, bullets spraying from his rifle. She nimbly skated over, careful to dodge the lead projectiles flying at her. When she was a reasonable distance, she pulled out Immobius and blasted him in the face.

Suddenly, Shaxx's voice boomed: "Heavy Ammo is inbound! Go, go, go!"

Galvanzied into action, Zana ran to join her team mates. She was able to grab some of the purple stuff. Her flaming sword sprang out of it's scabbard like a jack-in-the-box turned pyromaniac.

Suddenly, the enemy sprang out from all sides, with a lust for death.

Zanalie quickly reacted, slicing and dicing. She and her sword danced like quicksilver, and they fell like dust in the wind.

The banners rolled down to reveal the symbol of Bravo Team.

Lord Shaxx's voice boomed: "Well done, Bravo team! You crushed them!"

Zanalie and her team mates cheered. Victory was theirs.

      (11/10 Too much Warhammer.

Seriously though, this RP takes place during the planned Forge of Gods Expansion, correct? And two characters here are based of characters from the House of Storms RP. Then tell me, Warboss, how several years have passed between these two RPs, when HoS was set from the end of The Dark Below to the middle parts of House of Wolves, and Forge of Gods is supposed to come out sometime after the end of The Taken King? If the Ice Hammers really were stuck in the void for several years, then they would arrive at Mars in Year 9 or 10 in the Destiny universe, which means not even close to the events of this RP.)

(I hope you guys don't plan on stating the action without me.)

(We already talked about this on the first thread I don't see why you're bringing this up now seeing as though we'd already agreed to a compromise earlier. Although, it states they were gone for a few years, lets just say they were gone for one year or less. And altough it is set during the time of the Taken King that itself is a large chunk of time. I assumed that the fleet would appear on Mars after Oryx's demise, seeing as the Taken are still a prevalent threat in the solar system. Taking in the account that they encountered a small segment of Oryx's fleet right around the time Oryx's fleet were approaching the Reef, you can kind of get an idea of how long the Cabal were out in deep space.)

"Why does Ikora keep giving me the same bounties, well, it's getting dark, should probably head home."

Rize was at Old Russia, finishing the bounties Ikora sent him every day. The Sun was set, it was getting dark, if he didn't head back, he might face many more lurking Fallen at night.

He was roaming around with his new & improved XV0 Timebreaker, he was looking for other Guardians & reminding them to start leaving, when all of the sudden, his old memories came back to his mind.

      ~FLASHBACK~

"Retreat, We can't die like this, RETREAT!" Rize shouted to his teammates

Guardian Do.. Guardian Do... Guardian Do... Guardian Do.. Guardian Do...

      ~Present~

"I wish they would reboot my memories, why do they need my memories anyways." Rize thought to himself as...

      ~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP

"The Vanguard is calling you to the Tower." The Ghost to Rize as it popped up.

"Well, it's time to head back." Rize said as he sighed.

                                                ~            ~          ~             ~

As Rize was walking around the Tower, he thought to himself.

'Why couldn't I help them, why did I feel so weak, I had my super ready, I could have..."

"Stop thinking from the past & start doing things at the Present." Cayde walked to Rize, Cayde knew how Rize felt. Losing a teammate (Andal Brask) against Taniks, The Scarred.

"Look, I know it's hard to forget those memories, but you just got to keep moving forward." Cayde told Rize.

"Well, I'll try, but I will need some help." Rize said

"Well, the Vanguard has something definitely in store for you." Cayde hinted Rize as he sprinted to the Hall.

    • Artemis hopped into Little Light and initialized the engines.

<Where are we going? > asked her Ghost.

"We're gonna go get some target practice."

      <Ah. >

She kicked the ship into gear, and took off. The sun had set, and the sky was dark.

The massive columns of the Cosmodrome faded into view. The ruined Colony Ships of the Golden Age. Great stash-hiding places. Nice sniping spots, if you were good enough. That's the kind of practice Artemis needed.

The ship slowed over the looming sphere of the Colony Ship. The Huntress appeared suddenly into the sniper post, watching the jumpship rocket away into the distance. She cracked her neck, and strolled toward a stash. She picked up a sniper rifle from the stash, and opened the cartrige. 5 rounds, one in the chamber. Good.

      "Save... Your.... Self..."

"LOOK I CAN HELP, PLEASE I CAN..."

"Listen to me. Don't... Try... You've done enough"

      "Just... Go..."

      ~PRESENT~

"Like Cayde said, do things that will affect the present." Rize murmured.

The Tower was quiet at nighttime. You could hear the crackling wind go around the high elevated place, you can hear the footsteps loudly, the Tower was definitely quiet.

"Well, I'll come back to the Tower later, it's pretty dark & the Vanguard hasn't responded in a while now." Rize thought. He was thinking on going to the Crucible.

                  ~                     ~                            ~                            ~                       ~

Rize joined a Rift game already started, his team was losing by a couple hundred points, the match was very close.

Rize knew this map very well, Vertigo, was his 1st 3 capture Rift game, which got him the medal, "The Best... Around", since then, he has wreak havoc in this type of game.

"Look, team, I know this map, let me get the Spark." Rize said, confidently.

The team didn't listen, instead they tried to take the spark, which became a easy target spot for other opponents. Rize had to clear the path every single time, but they never went to his side, instead went to portal, which became a big mistake.

"LOOK, LET ME GET IT, I COULD HELP YOU WIN!" Rize shouted.

The team finally decided to give him a chance to get the spark. As soon as he got the spark, none of his teammates helped him.

"Looks like I have to do everything myself." Rize murmured.

Not only did he take the spark all the way, he defended & killed all the opponents, which gave the whole team the lead.

The score was very close. The opposing team got the Spark & went, with the whole team defending him, to the Rift. The opposing team almost scored, but the game ended the last second before he was able to put it in the rift. Rize's team won.

Lord Shaxx booms, "YOU ARE VICTORIUS!"

      ~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~BEEP~

"The Vanguard needs you at the Tower now." The Ghost popped up again.

"Well, now it's time." Rize said, calmly.

    • BANG.

A shot echoed through the air as a bullet passed through the power coupling for the Skiff. Fire blossomed from the breach as the dropship collapsed to the ground. Fallen looked in the direction of the shots, but only saw the Colony Ship, far in the distance.

      BANG.

A Dreg's head burst into Ether, and collapsed to the floor. The Vandals with Wire Rifles opened fire in the direction of the Ship, but to no avail.

      BANG, BANG, BANG.

All three Vandals collapsed near similtaneously. A Captain emerged from a covered building to see why his company had fallen.

      BANG.

A round passed through the skull of the Captain, and its lifeless body fell to the ground.

<Nice shots, > Artemis' Ghost remarked.

"Not bad... I could do better." She picked herself up and strolled to the stockpile of Sniper Rifle ammunition she kept under a crate. She grabbed a magazine filled with heavy iridium bullets and returned to her sniping location. Ejecting the empty clip, she lay down and reloaded the Rifle, an old Epitaph 2261. The Vanguard had gotten far more powerful weapons in recent years, like the 1000- Yard Stare. But, she couldn't help but use the old thing.

A massive crash suddenly resounded across the Cosmodrome, as a Cabal ship shattered the atmosphere, shaking the Huntress' focus.

<Cabal!? What are they doing here? >

"Get us out of here! we have to report this to the Vanguard!"

<Yes, I remember. You and the Nightstalker Hunter waited for 3 hours for Headshots to complete a Vanguard bounty.>

"Heh...Cyrus was an amazing Guardian. Wish he was still out in the field..."

(In this instance it is not grammar that is concerned, but rather how you wrote the post in general. For starters if you're going to have your character get into an engagement with anything, then you should write some details as to what happened. Take my post for example, I didn't just tell the reader that three minotaurs walked into the room, killed two Cabal, and wounded the Bracus. Instead I used descriptive details and wording to explain to the reader what exactly happened between the Bracus, and the minotaurs. In your post on the other hand you simply skipped writing your character as killing the Cabal forces, instead you just told your reader that he did. Remeber, always explain or show, don't tell.)

    • As the sky was torn by the descending warships fire engulfed the crafts, creating a whirlwind of flames as they made their approach to the surface. The warships twisted and buckeld, causing fragments to break off from the large vessels; they too would make their fiery descent onto the red dunes of Mars. Upon impact against the surface a large gulf of fire was kicked into the air, along with: dust, sand, and shrapnel. Thousand ducked for cover as golden age structures, and Cabal firebases alike were engulfed by the cloud of dust, and shrapnel.

Primus Ko'tham on the other hand had taken a trio of harvesters to investigate the crash site, the three dropships although, surrounded by the haze, were capable of navigating their way to the crafts using their onboard computer systems. It would be only a matter of time, before they would reach the two wrecks.

(This has got to be the worst and most lazy idea I have ever seen for a DLC. Yes, we know that Nokris is probably going to be featured in a future DLC. But this, this is nothing but TTK all over again. Literary. Only changes between the two are the words "Taken" and "Phantom". This is really, really bad, uncreative and unoriginal. If you're going to make your own DLC, at least put some damn effort into it. Don't just write down whatever just popped into your head on any random thread! Just awful.

BTW, Nokris could in no way be a king. Only Oryx's siblings are Hive Kings/Queens. Nokris is Crota brother/sister. I hate people who ignore lore.

In fact, the only point in the entire lore of destiny so far that Nokris is mentioned in is the statue outside the alter of Oryx. My theory is that it is parhaps the spawn of either Savathun or Xivu Arath, rather than Oryx.)

E thrall you get 10 points wizards you get 50 points ogres 75 points. When there us about 250 points one random player (even if they are alive) will be chosen to be a ultra let's go with thalnok fanatic of crota he will spawn and any majors killed then will not add points you have to kill the ultra

Yes this is kinda like left 4 dead and left 4 dead 2 but seriously though it would be cool to play as the darkness especially the ultras

(I didnt play Rasputin just to blow shit up for no reason. He persues his own agenda, and does not concern himself with the city. He has acted like this before, testing the capabilities of remaining orbital defences on mars in the midst of a battle between the Cabal and the Vex. In this instance, he detected a cabal scout ship very close to his base of operations, and estimated that they were probably there to destroy or disable him. Thusly, he destroyed the ship as a warning, and activated orbit to ground point defences for his bunker to keep agressors out. He acted in defence of himself, and would only do so again in responce to assaults on stategic assets, or overwhelming enemy forces, not in defence of the city or the guardians.

Also, people either forget or dont know that Rasputin still has control of a functional array of orbital doomsday weapons across the inner system. I assume that he would only use them in a situation like this: to counter a large and agressive threat to himself, such as a fully armed and manned Cabal criuser.)

    • The two strolled toward the hall, and Cayde was there to meet them.

      "Hey Cayde-" Artemis started.

"The Cabal. I know. As soon as they broke orbit Rasputin sent out a huge notice."

"Rasputin? When was the last time we made contact with-"

"A group of Guardians went in and destroyed a machine that was trying to crack his system. That, I guess, tipped the scales in our favor."

"So, what's going on here, Cayde?"

"The Cabal are launching massive attacks on Earth, Luna, Venus, and especially on Mars. A new Legion of highly regarded warriors is in the lead. In short terms, the space turtles are calling in the big guns."

The Huntress' brows furrowed with concern.

      "What can we do?"

"Kill them, for a start! What else? We stepped into a war with them. This is their turf. Zavala told you to be ready for war, didn't he, Guardian?"

      Artemis was silent.

"Look, kid... this is no laughing matter. These Cabal level cities. Obliterate planets. Move through suns if they're in the mood."

"Where do we start? Is there something we can do other than just fight a war of attrition? That seems to be their strong point."

Cayde-6 suddenly went silent, uncommon for him.

      "What?"

He looked at her with a slight smile. "I think I know just who can help you. He's been gone awhile... but I know he's back. Come over here."

The Vanguard slapped a piece of paper with some numbers scribbled on it.

"Go to these coordinates. There's a small Cabal outpost here. You need to get his attention."

Artemis walked backward from the Hunter, and nodded. "C'mon Mr. Matchstick, we got somewhere to go," she said as she turned to Vesuvius.

      "Hey, Ves," the Vanguard called.

The Titan moved quickly toward the Hunter. "Can I help you, sir?"

"Don't let her know about... the FM. She'll find out by herself. That's best. Hear me?"

      "Of course, sir." Vesuvius responded.

"Let's go, Matchstick. We don't have all year," Artemis taunted.

The Fangs of Nyx laboriously towered above the two Fireteam members, when Ves' Ghost transmitted him into the hull.

"Hey, Ghost. Play me that transmission, quietly, will you?"

      <On it.>

Quietly, cracking through his receiver, a voice sprung within the speakers. The volume was low, so silent you could hear a pin drop, but Vesuvius managed to listen to the transmission.

And they're lead by a Cabal Colussi we have info on. I assume you're with another Fireteam, since you aren't responding, but, find that Colussus. We need it dead."

    • "So, here's the coords..." she walked over to the data module on the front area of the ship. She punched a few keys, then entered the coordinates. Artemis heard a small crackle and some weak words. She figured they were just an old transmission for the Titan and didn't question further.

"I wonder how ol' Ras is holding up."

    • (Sorry for not posting for a long time, had a road trip)

Rize Shouted, "WHAT IN THE WORLD! HOW DOES THE TOWER HOLD THIS MUCH PEOPLE!."

The Tower is very hectic, many Guardians coming in & out from parts of the tower. Rize was in the middle, sandwiched between two Titans.

"you could at least put some or deoderant." Rize murmured.

<At this rate, we'll never be able to get to Cayde. >

Rize sprinted the Hall as fast as he can, trying to track the other Guardian that was there.

      "Cayde~sigh~did you~sigh~see..."

"Whoa, Whoa, calm down for a second. What's the problem?" Cayde asked.

Rize asked, "Have you seen a Guardian talk to you earlier?"

Cayde responded, "That's way too broad, be specific."

"The Guardian came up to you like... 2 minutes ago, if you know the Guardian, please tell me the name?"

"1st off, it's classified. 2nd, why would I do that, that's total invasio..."

The Ghost interrupted, <The Burning Scout Legion dropped some of their troops at the Mothyards, Cosmosdrome, Old Russia. >

"Wait, how do you know that?" Cayed asked.

"Because I fought them at the Cosmodrome earlier. I only saw two Harvesters nearby, I feel like there's more."

"That's true, a dozen more were spotted by 2 Guardians."

Rize asked, "Well, that's a lot of Harvesters, are they thinking of taking over Earth?"

"Cabal are pretty smart, I think they're just scouting to look for a Earth Base."

"Now, can you tell me the Guardians' names?"

"I can't really remember their names." Cayde quickly wrote numbers into the paper, "Although this where I sent them."

      "Thanks."

<Looks like we found ourselves with war... >

Rize interrupted, "We're already in war against the Cabal."

<But not fighting against a specific Legion. >

"I guess you're right. Quickly, I need to find those 2."

Rize boards the ship & puts the coordiantes very quickly.

<Quickly, before we lose them again. >

      "I got it, lets go."

    • Artemis grinned and looked at the Titan. What a stoic. She chuckled and sat back in her seat, pulling out her knife and a grinding stone. She began to sharpen the knife, honing it to the perfect edge. The Huntress tilted her head, checking the taper. She ran her finger along the blade. It sliced through her armour, and cut the digit.

      "Shyit." she swore loudly.

This caught a glaring look from Vesuvius, who was clearly a stickler.

      "What?" She asked.

She shook off the wound and sheathed her knife.

    • The ship sailed into orbit for a short 30 seconds before falling towards the Cosmodrome.

"So, brief rundown. We find the Colussus leading the Burning Legion, we kill him, send them running. Simple enough, Hunter?" He asks, hoping she wouldn't say anything.

    • She turned to the Titan. "Artemis, remember? Is that plasteel helmet so thick it shuts out names?" the Huntress teased.

"Yeah, simple enough. Cayde said we'd attract somebody by killing this Commander. Any idea who it is?"

    • "Ok, the coordinates are set, looks like it's at the Earth again."

The Ghost asked, <Since there are 2 Guardians, what do you think their classes & subclasses are? >

Rize responded, "Well, I'm not sure, but I do need a Guardian that can pummel through against big enemies & another can shoot high amounts of damage at a long range."

      <So a Titan & a Hunter. >

"A Sunbreaker & a Gunslinger to be exact."

The ship is nearing the coordiantes that Rize set to. The ship was looming nearby the site, it was still full of Cabal bodies on top of each other.

"Well, we're nearby. Lets get ready." Rize said to his Ghost.

<The 1st fight of many fights to come. Lets do this. >

As the Jumpship slowed to a stop over Dock 13, the Guardians noticed that the Dock had been slightly reconstructed by the Cabal.

Primus Ko'tham, accompanied by a team of three harvesters, gazed into the fog as the dropships were enveloped in its wake. On either side of the harvester, the view of the flanking harvesters was cut off, all that could be seen of what was a craft, was its searchlight and nothing else. Ko'tham anxiously waited to arrive at the crash site, puzzled and equally curious in what laid in the ruins of the mighty vessels. His train of thought however was interupted by the crackle of the comms:

"Primus," the piot spoke, "We are detecting energy signatures ten kilometers from our current position."

"Then it won't be long till we reach the crash site," Ko'tham responded. The primus turned and spoke towards the legionares that stood vigilant within the hull of the dropship,"Ice Hammers prepare for action!"

    • ( Time to get crazy. )

It had begun just like any other day for the Warlock known as Erasmus; his jumpship, the Vintage Russian Soul, docked in orbit above the glowing bastion of Mother Earth. One might find beauty in the marvelous blue marble, but the fact was that it was only a mere speck of dust in the vast scope of the universe. Mysteries had yet to be unraveled, and like any other Warlock, Erasmus wished to hunt down this knowledge until it became known to him. Though unlike other Warlocks, Erasmus pursued his goals in a different way. Long ago, Erasmus had his jumpship fitted with several other facilities in order to support his "studies". Once such room appeared to be a solitary table. One could only assume what sort of things went on there.

"Cassius. Be a good Ghost and fetch me my scalpel." Erasmus spoke with an almost refined and gentlemanly tone. The small Ghost of his, Cassius, had floated over towards the table and transmatted a thin, lightweight scalpel. Erasmus curled his fingers around the implement and began to cut away at his specimen. It was a Vandal, yellow colors suggested it once belonged to the House of Kings. Ether was spilled all over the place, with arms and legs sawed off, flesh and bone. Erasmus picked at the corpse like a child would play with their food; he moved his scalpel about the innards and observed the anatomy of the Fallen. Carefully, Erasmus dragged his blade downward and bisected the Fallen King's heart, causing Ether to spurt over his helmet. "Due note... I think they're attempting to get their revenge post-mortem." Erasmus released a stifled chuckle as he wiped away the Ether. The entire chest of the Vandal had been split open, displaying alien organs of various kinds.

Before Erasmus could continue any further with his research, a sudden beeping echoed from the cockpit of his jumpship. This caused Erasmus to slip with his scalpel, cutting through a different organ. He groaned in disappointment, setting down his bloody implement. "For fuck's sake... what could they want from me now?"

The Warlock's Ghost, Cassius, floated over towards the operating table. The Ghost was a pure purple color, with gold accents and a solid gold eye. "We've recieved orders from top brass. Vanguard wants us to head down to the Cosmodrome. Cabal are getting too big for their britches."

Erasmus craned his head towards Cassius. "Cabal, you say? It has been too long since I've picked apart a Cabal..." The Warlock mused over the thought for a few seconds, before pulling out his fusion rifle. The void engine charged up in seconds and released a spread-fire blast of energy. The Vandal corpse was caught in the discharge and reduced to void particles, thus removing his trash. "Plot a course for Old Russia. Perhaps I might find a challenge in pitting my knowledge against Cabal war tactics."

"Calm before the storm, Mr. Matchstick." Artemis said. "Follow me."

The Huntress led the Titan confidently through the hole in the wall. Even though the corridors were unfamiliar, she walked forward and followed her Ghost without question. There had to be an air of authority, she thought.

As they grew closer to the coordinates, the sound of Cabal boots marching in unison thundered through the walls.

"We go in quiet, Ves. No hammers unless we're spotted." Artemis whispered.

    • After cleaning up his messy work place, Erasmus set aside his fusion rifle and settled into the commander's chair of the cockpit. Set to autopilot, his jumpship slowly drifted into low orbit above Russia, floating over the familar skies of the old Russian cosmodrome. Shattered colony ships and dozens of abandoned cars littered the landscape, a relic of the Golden Age once past. Rather than reflecting on the frailty of humankind, Erasmus was more concerned with securing an intact Cabal specimen. "Do you know how long it's been since I've got my hands on one?" Erasmus asked Cassius.

"2 months, boss. You managed to grab a Centurion during the Sky Burners' siege on Oryx's Dreadnaught." Cassius responded, almost to a perfect recollection of the events.

"Correct. You have no idea how happy I am." Erasmus said with a bit of glee in his otherwise monotonous voice. Flicking a few levers, he took the jumpship off of autopilot and slowly set it down in an open field just outside the Cosmodrome walls. It became apparent that the Cabal had seized quite a large hold out of the Cosmodrome, which seemed rather odd; the Cabal and Fallen were supposed allies, so why fight now? Erasmus had assumed it was simply caused by desperate times, but he cared not. There were subjects to study. Erasmus was transmatted out of his jumpship and into the shallow waters of the Gateway. He was dressed in mostly Kellbreaker garb, with the Obsidian Mind sitting proudly upon his head. "Soon..." He muttered, as he began walking towards the Breach area.

    • As the Huntress and the Titan walked through the tunnel, the rythmic pounding of boots on concrete could be heard further inside. Suddenly, her Ghost buzzed in.

<The Cabal are on a march. They'll be moving to attack Rasputin's Bunker!>

"If they hurt him, we'll be defenseless."

<If they control him, we're dead. According to their comms a trio of Flayers is on the way!>

"Should we go and get them? Not really a question."

<From what Cayde said it sounds like we'll need this mysterious character anyway.>

      "They're next, then."

      They continued, silent.

      Clump. Clump. Clump. Clump. Clump.

The Cabal remained at a steady speed. The chattering speech of Psions echoed all over. Artemis turned to Vesuvius.

"How ya holdin up? Not used to stalking your prey, are you?"

    • Erasmus found himself without much trouble as he fought through the Breach, taking out what few Devils remained after the Cabal moved into the Cosmodrome. With Red Death in hand, the Warlock casually swung the bayonet like a sword and lopped a Vandal's head off, causing it to tumble across the floor. "Tell me if you can, Cassius. What are these Cabal planning to do?" He asked this question of his Ghost, clearly not needing much focus on combat. The Fallen were distracted by the invasion of Cabal, leading to an easy mop-up on Erasmus' part.

"They're planning something, boss. Can't tell what but I took the liberty of decrypting incoming transmissions. Looks like they're going after the old warmind."

After severing the optic nerve of a Servitor, leaving it effectively blind in the process, Erasmus stepped out into The Divide. Legions of Cabal marched through the area, with a couple of Goliath tanks helping to fortify positions. "Raspustin, certainly. Not exactly the most original of ideas."

As a pair of squads from the burning legion advanced up the slope in the forgotten shore towards the ancient refueling station which housed one of the secret entrances to Rasputin's bunker, a feeling of unease filled the ground troops. Command had warned them to be aware of arial attacks, yet they had gotten this far unchallanged. As the troops reached the outskirts of the crumbling building, and finally began to believe that they had slipped in unnoticed, the sky issued forth a silent, instant death.

A carpet of razor sharp, three-inch-long flechettes rained down from orbit faster than the speed of sound, giving no warning to their approach. Sheathed in burning plasma from the atmosphere, and propelled by both the force of their launch and the crushing weight of gravity, the projectiles rained down upon the cabal force.

Like food in a blener, the cabal were torn apart, the flechette's rasor-sharp edges, collected plasma field, explosive impact, and incredible speed mincing the alien soldiers. Limbs and chuncks of bodies alike were flung from the slope, and rained down along the nearby shore. When the short barrage ended, the only thing left alive on the slope was half a centurion, who dragged itself into the crumbling refuelling station, and died there, its legs and the other half of its torso laying on a rock across the forgotten shore.

The watchful eye survayed this massacre, and prepared its report.

"They're just around this corner. Guns at the ready." The Huntress herself unclipped her MIDA Multi-Tool, clicking off the safety and putting her finger over the trigger.

      "Ghost, analyze numbers."

Her Ghost clicked, spun, and beeped once.

      <14 Legionaries, 6 Phalanxes, 2 Centurions. And... a Valus.>

"What? Cayde said there was a Hierus."

<He's further ahead. There's little chance we can get to him unless we take out that Primus. The Hierus will try to escape. Killing those guards might give me enough time to remotely hack his Harvester to stop its launch.>

"Well, now's the time." She nodded at the Ghost, and he vanished in a flash.

"Vesuvius. We go on my mark."

    • "Damn. They've really dug into this place." Cassius commented. The small Ghost preformed scan after extensive scan, making sure to report the exact numbers of the Cabal legions that had invaded Old Russia. Or at least, close to exact numbers. Before he could finish, Erasmus took off from his idle stance. "W-where are you going? I'm not finished yet?"

"No time to waste. My thirst is becoming too strong." Erasmus replied. Instead of heading straight through the Cabal defense line, he took a detour around the Rocketyard. Summoning up his sparrow, he managed to drive off unnoticed by the mobilizing armies of Cabal, straight into another section of the Cosmodrome.

"Shall I set up a route for the shores?" Cassius asked.

"I've been here enough. No need." Erasmus jabbed the pedal with his foot, blasting past Fallen and Cabal fighting it out over control for the area. The Cabal had arrived in force, and with superior military prowess, they were bound to win. "You can do me a favor, though. Check if there are any Guardians in the area. I'd like to hear what they're up to."

"I'll get right on that." Cassius began to search through local frequencies of other fireteams, as Erasmus passed into the old foundry.

    • As the harevesters landed on the twisted hulks of metal once called warships, the emerging legionares were assaulted by a storm of dust and ashes. It soon became apparent to Primus Ko'tham that the crafts he was currentls standing on were very familiar, but his train of thought was cut off by the clamor of drills. The teams had found a structural weakness.

Once a sizable hole was cut into the hull of the warship, the large carved out metal plate crashed against the ground with deafening crash, revealing the rotting interior that appeared to have been untouched for quite some time. The Cabal wasted no time exploring the ship, searching every corner and room for signs of life.

"Squad Sho'arn check the bridge for life," Ko'tham commanded, "The rest of you follow me."

As the the Primus cut his way through the dark atomosphere of the interior they made a stunning revalation, covered in dust and shrouded with mystery stood a banner that hung from the wall; they all knew what it was, for it was the symbol of the Ice Hammers legion.

"This can't be," Ko'tham said in disbelief. Memories of the events that transpired on Europa assaulted his mind feroiciously, one name contiued to ring about his head...Num'raul....Num'raul.

"Primus we've found something of interest," spoke Bracus Sho'arn though the comms."It appears their are life signals coming from the cryro bays."

"Will move to investigate," replied Ko'tham.

    • The squad's descent into the cryro bay was shrouded in curiosity, and mystery; the lack of lighting did not help to lighten the mood. The prospect of the legion's past Primus still being alive and well not only struck Ko'tham with fear, but faced him with an unanswerable question. If Num'raul were to be revived, what would become of the legion? This remained within Ko'tham until the squad finally reached the cryro pods.

To their horror row upon row of pods each held a Cabal legionary within them, and even worse Num'raul's pod was directly in front of them; his emotionless expressoin staring into each and every one of their souls.

"No,no,no,no," Ko'tham said as he collapsed to his knees.

      "You're supposed to be dead!"

Name and race: Primus Ma'carn, Cabal

      Class: Colossus

Weapons: Modified Slug Rifle (deals Void damage), Projection Pistol, The Archammer.

      Armour: Primus-class reinforced Colossi armor.

Appearance: Wears armour painted in dark blue, black and silver, the colours of the Storm Juggernauts. Helmet is adorned with a horn shaped like a thin blade.

Bio: A war veteran from countless campaigns across Mars and planets beyond the edges of our solar system, Ma'carn once led the one of the most successful Legions ever, the Storm Juggernauts. Having purged Hive, Fallen and Vex from Mars, Ma'carn was chosen to investigate the increased Fallen activity on Jupiter's moon Europa, along with the forces of the Ice Hammer Legion. Once on Europa, the two Legions encountered the House of Storms, who plotted to activate an ancient Golden Age facilty hidden beneath the ice of the moon. Seeing this as a threat to the Empire, the Cabal engaged in a brutal campaign against the Eliksni, slowly but surely driving the Storms back. However, during the climax of the campaign, the battle for Stormwind Pass, Ma'carn realised that the campaign had been pointless. The forces engaged with his Legion were just decoy, while the real Storm force had almost reactivated the facility. Seeing himself stranded and out of options, Ma'carn struck a deal with the present Guardian force, Fireteam Argus. Argus and the Storm Juggernauts would assist each other in the final assault on the facility, to break the House of Storms. But at the same time Primus Num'raul, who was the commander of the Ice Hammers, saw the event as Ma'carn being captured, and sent a task force to free the Primus. Ma'carn then decided to fight the incoming force, trying to stop the impending disaster. After Ma'carn and Num'raul ended up in a deep chasm, the Ice Hammers retreated, and the Storm Juggernauts moved in towards the Icicle Towers with Argus. Once the assault was over, the Juggernauts and the Guardians went separate ways. However, a conflict occured between the Legions, which left the Ice Hammer Legion broken and battered, and the Storm Juggernauts branded as traitors. After the supposed death of Primus Num'raul aboard the Storm Juggernaut flagship Vita Extinctor IX, Ma'carn took his Legion deep into space, disappearing for a few months. During this time, reports from Guardians spoke of mysterious Cabal warriors engaging forces of Vex and Hive on Luna and Venus, disappearing before Guardians could investigate the matter further. These warriors briefly appeared on Mars, where they helped to turn the tide in a number of battles the present Cabal forces were losing. But as always, the mysterious allies retreated before any thanks could be given, or their identity could be revealed. Only a few members of the High Command suspect that it is Ma'carn who is behind these events. Now, with the Burning Legion rising and bringing all the Legions under one banner, Ma'carn may return, to stop the potential devastation of the Cabal on Mars.

    • Before long, Erasmus had managed to circumnavigate the entire Cabal frontline, ending up back in the Forgotten Shores. The Warlock hopped off his sparrow and overlooked the long abandoned shipyard, nothing more than a dried up lakebed. "Seems like someone beat us here. Shame, too. I wanted the first cut." Cabal legions mobilized in the distance, as they were all over the Cosmodrome by now. It was also worthy of note that many Cabal fleetships hung in low orbit above Russia, denoted by their massive stature and multitute of armaments. Erasmus turned towards the unassuming shack where one of a few secret entrances to Rasputin's bunker was; he recalled the various times forces of the Darkness attempted to seize the Warmind's knowledge. First was the Hive, and their bid to resurrect Crota. Then the Fallen, numerous times. And now it was the Cabal.

Erasmus slowly ascended the slope up towards the old bunker. Strewn everywhere were pieces of once-living Cabal; torn apart by explosive ordance. "What a waste. I can't dissect something that's already ripped to pieces." Erasmus commented, lamenting about the various corpses and how their bodies could have been used for more worthwhile purposes. Erasmus eventually let himself into the basement of the shack, right in front of the door to the Seraphim Vault.

    • Artemis braced herself against a large piece of concrete with rusted Rebar sticking out of it. The Huntress and the Titan had entered a large room, which appeared to be an emptied out water reserve. The ceiling had caved in some time ago, but the Cabal had been busy in their day or so. The place was supported by makeshift pillars. Perfect for ricochet shots.

The barrel of MIDA flashed brightly as hot bullets eagerly tore through the air, ready to crush the skulls of its opponents. Three Psions went down. Two Legionaries. A bullet passed through a Phalanx twice, passing through, then ricocheting off a wall into the beast's spine. Several shots took down one of the Centurion's shields, and rendered it helpless to Vesuvius' pummeling. The flames melted the armor of the massive space turtle, and it boiled to death in its own suit. The Centurion's helmet fell away. At that precise moment, the oxygen and hot oil combusted and the Cabal completely exploded. Burning oil flew everywhere.

A psion had managed to sneak up on the Titan, and it smacked him in the back with its psychic energy. Vesuvius staggered forward. But before he could turn around a massive iridium round was passing through its skull.

Suddenly a huge stomp shook the area as Valus Vu'usa slammed a boot. A roar echoed, a defiant cry for the slaughterers of his underlings.

      "Shyit, that's one big motherf-"

Her Ghost interrupted her. <Don't even think about it. Hammers in the face are not fun, Artemis.>

    • Gunfire continued to erupt outside. The Cabal continued to mobilize their armies, and before long they could very well cover the entire Cosmodrome with their vast militaries. Erasmus stood within the threshold to the old Rasputin bunker, turning his head side to side and wondering how he could get the door open. The entire purpose of the Cabal was to breach the bunker and claim Rasputin's pre-war knowledge; secrets once lost to time, blueprints for super weapons and schematics for lost relics. If the Cabal managed to get their hands on that tech, it would surely spell the end of the Last City, and the Traveler with it. Not that Erasmus truly cared for any of that. His major concern was his benefactors.

Cassius suddenly began to speak, after several moments of interfacing with the bunker console. "Picking up some random chatter. Guardians nearby."

"Let's hear it. I've begun to wonder how incompetent my fellow Guardians might be." Erasmus crossed his armies, with the long material of his Warlock coat swaying with every shift he made. As Cassius began to play back audio feeds, all that could be heard was plenty of gunfire, Cabal war cries and the occasional shout from a person or two. Distinctly, there were two voices; male and female. "It certainly sounds like someone is busy out there. I almost feel jealous."

    • The interior of the warship was cold, and silent. The veteran soldiers of the Ice Hammers stood before their dormant leader, who they all had once been commanded by. Every legionare knew how Num'raul's insane dogma nearly costed the legion itself to be anihilated, but there were mixed feelings as well concerning his revival. Something about his still body trapped within the metal tomb tempted them, as if they were all obligated to serve under his whim until death; even mentally. Ko'tham felt it too, and he knew deep within himself that if he refused to awaken the slumbering Primus, much more would be at stake then just the future of the legion: his sanity.

Ever so slowly Ko'tham's hand inched closer and closer to the deactivation terminal, it was as if he himself was in a trance of some sort. While his body was slowly drifting ever nearer towards the console, his mind was distant and trapped within a never ending limbo of nightmares and memories; or perhaps more fitting, memories of nightmares.

"Stop!" exclaimed one of the legionares. Suddenly, Ko'tham was lifted from the trance.

"We can't just leave him," Ko'tham replied.

"Listen to yourself, that mad man's actions resulted in the deaths of countless Cabal," the legionare contiued, "Or have you all forgotten?"

"You're right," Ko'tham realized. "But how will we dispose of the pods?"

His question however, would never go answered for their train of thought was interupted by the dreadful sound of an alarm. The terminal controling the cryro bays flared red, as the console displayed three horrifying words:

      POWER LEVEL CRITICAL

      POWER LEVEL CRITICAL.

The siren contiued until the message changed,

      CRYRO POD SHUTDOWN INITIATE.

The pods all simultaneously released steam, as they all began to open to reveal the contents within. While Ko'tham and his men watched in horror at the sight of Num'raul's revival.

"What happened?" Ko'tham asked. "What caused the power failure?"

Once the steam had cleared, a familiar voice spoke "Ko'tham is that you?" Its uttering drove chills down the spines of each, and every one of Ko'tham's men.

( Shh, it's fine. But seriously, might want to avoid ohko'ing something like a Valus. They usually have more health than just a standard Cabal, and the only thing you can ohko is minor enemies. Regular Psions, Legionaries and Centurions at the most. )

Erasmus continued to wait about the exterior of the Seraphim Vault, as if expecting Rasputin to open it for him. Such seemed not to be the case as minutes passed with no visible budge of the vault doors. The Warlock heaved a dissatisfied groan from between pale blue lips. "I'm about to step outside and murder those legions of Cabal just for entertainment. This has grown tiresome." Gunfire continued to explode outside the shelter as the Cabal marched ever closer to reaching Rasputin. "I bet those barbarians would try to blast it open. Can't say that I admire such reckless personalities." Suddenly, a small blip lit up across the Warlock's HUD, causing him to grow curious. "And what's this, now?"

Cassius interjected. "It seems that Rasputin himself is sending us a waypoint for something." Cassius went ahead and translated the transmission recieved from the Warmind. It only took a few seconds, as the Ghost was fully familiar with various languages, both current and forgotten. "Oh, yes. He says he's sending down a Warsat. Most likely for the codes to enter the bunker."

"Either he wishes to use us or he truly fears for his safety." From his back, Erasmus pulled out his primary weapon, the pulse rifle known as Red Death. It was strictly forbidden by the Vanguard, as the tales told of the firearm's origin being seeped in blood and death, hence the name. Erasmus wasn't one to follow orders, and found the weapon to be rather fascinating. How ironic was it to bring about the demise of the enemy with a weapon forged of the blood of allies? Erasmus stepped away from the bunker entrance and headed upstairs, where the Cabal had begun to march up the slope. Taking cover behind a fallen pillar, Erasmus sighed and focused all his energy into a single point at his palm.

"What do we now, boss?" Cassius asked, hovering below the Guardian's shoulder. The Ghost looked up towards his master with a single, bright green eye.

"It's simple, Cassius." Void light condensed into Erasmus' palm, which he launched mere moments later. The small axion bolts floated slowly through the air, eventually colliding into a pair of Legionaries; immediately, the bolts exploded in a violent reaction and disintegrated the two. Following this event, the Cabal began opening fire on Erasmus. Even when his shields began to chip away from blast damage, Erasmus gained it right back through the usage of his weapon; the Red Death had a special effect where it could leech health from fallen foes, not unlike a parasite. Legionaries, Psions and Phalanxs fell in droves as they attempted to reach Rasputin. After killing off the initial war party, Erasmus finished his comment towards Cassius. "We slaughter them all."

Artemis opened up by throwing a Tripmine Grenade, and maybe shooting him a bit. So in no way can you insta-kill a Valus with a single Hammer of Sol, no matter how many times you throw it you can't take him down. So please, retcon and fight Vu'usa properly.)

Hammers were thrown and the Valus staggered with each hit, but he got too close: Shortly after the Hammers were finished, Ves was shortly knocked away into a wall. Hiding behind crates, he pulled out his Auto Rifle and begun fire on the Valus.

After Rize was done crawling, all he heard was bullets flying, feet stomping, and hammers flying through the air.

"Umm... Why is there a Valus?" Rize asked

      <Cayde didn't say it was easy. >

"Well, lets get right to it."

As Rize was pulling out his Hand Cannon, when all of the sudden, a Harevster started dropping more Cabal.

      <At least it's only Legionaries. >

"They're still not easy to kill."

One by one Rize quickly aimed his Eaysluna at the Legionaries' head. The bullets made a swift, yet a piercing sound. One by one, Almost Every bullet that Rize shot was a headshot, and one by one, Legionaries would fall to the hands of Rize and his Eaysluna, Rize quickly hid behind the boxes for cover to reload his weapon. When he peeked around the boxes, all he could see was just more Legionaries drop by.

<Rize, do you want to... you know? >

"Not right now, I'm need it for something else."

Rize quickly peeked in and out of the cover,  trying to shoot the Legionaries to get to Valus. The Legionaries were creeping closer and closer to Rize. He gave all that he had, throwing his Grenades, firing quickly, this time though, he was trying to kill the Cabal, whether it's a headshot or not. After a couple minutes, the battle was over between him and the Legionaries.

"sigh.. sigh... sigh... Well, that wasn't easy." Rize was out of breath after moving in and out of covers.

<Well, what are you waiting for? Help the others! > The Ghost exclaimed.

    • Once the smoke had cleared the legionares stood in horror as their former Primus emerged from his cryro pod, his emergence was followed by dozens more as a slumbering legion awoke to their beckoned call. All the Ko'tham could do was stare in horror at were once his fellow comrades. Num'raul, upon awakening from cryro sleep, collapsed to his knees and held his head with both of his hands as if he was having a massive headache. His response to the sudden pain was to plant his heavy fist into the ground with a deafening crash, a large indent was left in the floor where his fist had landed. Upon impact, Ko'tham and his team took several steps back away from the Primus hoping he wouldn't shift his violent tendencies to them.

Num'raul then stood up astonished at what laid before him, "Ko'tham is that you?" Ko'tham didn't answer but instead took several steps back.

"You awakened us didn't you?" the Primus spoke with joy. "I knew my second in command would return to me."

"I..I..I..," Ko'tham was too terrified to speak clearly.

"Look now legionares this is an example to follow by," Num'raul exclaimed. "Soldiers of our legion always watch one another and follow orders without question till death!"

"Venerari quisque contubernalem!" shouted the legionares as Num'raul raised his fist.

Num'raul then turned and spoke to Ko'tham once more, "It has been a longe time since we last fought alongside one another."

"We presumed you dead Primus, and upon this assumption the high command promoted me to Primus of the Ice Hammers," Ko'tham replied.

"The High Command!" Num'raul said as he slammed his fist against the wall.

"Those cowards are weak and powerless, while I fought against the Hive in deep space those fools were fighting a defensive war with their tails between their legs!"

"Consentimus!" replied the legionares, all except Ko'tham and his soldiers.

"It is time that the high command be replaced by a leader more capable of war, and victory against enemies of the emperor," Num'raul said.

"You can't be serious, this is treason," reasoned Ko'tham.

"No Ko'tham, it is treason to fight a war the way our high command has been fighting," Num'raul replied. "The emperor demands results and only his finest soldiers can get them, since they have failed to acquire results we will."

"We will discuss more of this later Ko'tham but right now we must tend to other buisness" he spoke. "Come now comrades, their are more of our brothers that need wakening," Num'raul commanded, as the legion moved out of the cryro bay.

    • Cabal continued to march up the small slope, and Erasmus was left to defend himself against ever-increasing odds. It wasn't the first time; once, he had found himself facing down hordes of Hive with nothing more than his Bad Juju, another weapon he used. Granted, he took that challenge easily and slaughtered them all in just under an hour. Those were better times. With pinpoint precision, Erasmus continued to pick off the smaller Cabal that recklessly charged his position, while heavy artillery set up in the far distance, perhaps with the intention to bomb the bunker open. "So persistent." He scoffed, so confident in his own abilities. Goliath tanks rolled in from the far off end of the dry lakebed. He groaned as he ducked behind cover, avoiding a volley of damaging fire.

"This Rasputin surely wishes to test my patience by pitting us against these barbarians. Always so willing to use us to his own ends. No matter." Erasmus commented over the roar of gunfire. Further and further, the Cabal mounted their counterattack and stormed the small hill. The Warlock rammed his pulse rifle into the ground, before charging up a massive wealth of void energy into his left palm. Hopping over the short barrier he used as cover, he launched the energy ball outward, which immediately broke into three smaller ones. The void energy scattered and disintegrated any of the weaker Cabal that were consumed in the blast. After unleashing his mighty Nova Bomb, Erasmus scrambled back into cover, grabbed his Red Death and continued to fire.

<Be careful, last time you've fought a Valus was when... you know. > The Ghost reminded Rize about the situation.

"Yeah, yeah, I don't need you to remind me of that."

      ~FLASHBACK~

"TAKE COVER!" Hiro shouted as the Valus fired out it massive. fiery cannons to the Fireteam. The Valus stood in their way to their rendezvous. They needed to get out of the Dreadnaught, the Fireteam was running out of ammo and another blast of Valus' Cannon could wipe the whole Fireteam out.

"That's our exit, but only one can get through it." Xerxo and the others pointed at Rize, they wanted him to go through the exit.

"Why me? I can help you guys through all of this." Rize was trying to reason with the others.

"Look, you're young, you still need to learn more things, especially, being a Warlock. We've got a new mission. Is to get Rize out of here, safely.¨

¨Don't treat me like a child, I can do things on my own!" Rize shouted at Hiro.

"We've got no choice! You act cocky when you're with us, you..." Hiro was interrupted by the sound of the crackling cannons zooming to their spot.

      "TAKE COVER!"

      ~PRESENT~

Rize responded to the Ghost, "Okay."

Rize creeped closer to the door. He aimed his weapon straightfoward, he was trembling with fear and his memories playing quickly, over and over again. He wasn't fighting for the Vanguard, he was fighting for his life.

    • Suddenly, a Warlock charged through the door, throwing solar grenades and hammering the Valus with his Hand Cannon. Artemis already liked the kid. She could sense his fear... but he had pushed it aside. Good.

"Warlock! Get to cover, unless you're one of those guys who can come back to life!"

He was clearly very focused on Vu'usa. The massive Cabal, however, would not be so easily defeated. The Valus stomped, vibrating the entire chamber. Several rockets flew from its back, homing in on the open Sunsinger.

    • Rize quickly sprinted to the nearest cover that he saw. He slid, just passing the whizzing rockets.

      "That was close."

Rize quickly scanned the whole area. All he saw was the Valus, and 2 Guardians.

"I thought there was only one?"

<Well, more the merrier. Plus, it looks like your wish came true. >

Rize quickly sprinted to the 2 Guardians. One Titan and one Hunter. Although, something caught Rize's eye. The Hammer.

A Sunbreaker?! I haven't seen one in ages. Rize thought. The Hunter wore The Crest of Alpha Lupe and Sealed Ahamkara Grasps.

A Gunslinger? I'm not sure about her class. Rize thought. Rize slid, barely making it to the cover.

He was forced to retreat several times now, because his cover was destroyed by approaching Goliath tanks. His shields keep up thanks to his weapon, sapping away at the health of his foes. Countless corpses of Psions, Legionaries and Phalanxes littered the slope, slain by the questionably insane Warlock. He showed no mercy in his executions, riddling the enemy with bullets until they were killed. This reckless choice of engagement eventually left Erasmus with no ammo left. Goliath tank engines whirred in the distance, with the eternal march of the Cabal legions approaching ever closer. Erasmus crawled up against a metal barrier and emitted a sigh.

"Infernal creatures. Pitiful mindless warmongerers." He cursed to himself. "Useless warmind!"

A Centurion suddenly breached the small shelther that hid the bunker. Erasmus remained hidden away and waited for an opportune moment to attack. After the Centurion turned his back, Erasmus leapt onto the creature's back. He tilted his head at an odd degree, almost as if he was possessed. Beneath his helmet, he wore a maniacal grin. The Centurion shouted and flailed as Erasmus took his Red Death and rammed the bayonet through the Cabal soldier's helmet, splitting it open and splitting open the Centurion's scalp. Trepanning, as it was called. Erasmus kicked off the Centurion's back and sent it tumbling into a wall.

    • Ves looked out from behind his cover; Barely enough time to see a new figure within the room. Course, he didn't have enough time to actually meet the new Guardian (If he was a Guardian!), with the damaged Valus firing at all three targets.

Managing to jetpack over the Valus, the exhilarated Titan landed behind him. Quickly, like a snapshot, he managed to pull out a rare weapon for Guardians: a slender, razor-edged Sword. Running towards the back of the Valus, he managed to get a couple of good hits on the Vali.

Of course, it wasn't the best idea: Vu'usa stomped the ground with his heavily armored foot, shaking the ground and sending Ves away from him, sailing across the Hunter and the other figure. He threw a grenade, a Thermite Grenade, towards the vicinity of the Valus, resulting in its explosion and the Valus catching fire.

    • As soon as Rize got to cover, he quickly pulled out one of his oldest and his most favorite weapon, his LDR 5001. He quickly aimed his sights straight at Vu'usa's head, but when the Valus stomped the ground, all of his sights became messed up.

"Frick! missed shot!" Rize murmured in anger.

He quickly regain his balanced. He aimed down the sights again, but this time, at the Valus's body. He just got his shot off before Vu'usa could stomp again.

      "That's one."

      <Well, more to go. >

Rize almost made all of his shots right to the Valus's body. He knew that wasn't do as much damage as he would like, so he pulled out his newest weapon, the Void Edge. He hopped over the covers, glided to the humongous beast. He was able to get a couple of swings against Vu'usa, but as soon as the Valus lifted his foot up, Rize glided out of the range. As just he was getting out of range, he threw both of his Fusion Grenades at the Valus, both sticking to him. He just got out of lethal damage range, but ended up suffering minor injuries.

<You want to die? > The Ghost asked, sarcastically.

"I was just trying to do as much damage as I can."

<Well, be more careful next time! >

"I think I can handle myself."

    • ( If you think that's gory, you haven't seen anything yet. Some of the stuff on House of Storms was nightmarish. Some of the early stuff in Bone Wraith, too. )

The Centurion was smashed into the wall, with freshly revealed brain matter splattering against the cold metal. A squad of Psions ran in to aid their fallen comrade, but soon they too would join the slaughter. Erasmus warped the air around him to produce a field of void energy; he whirled around into a dangerous vortex and used his Red Death's bayonet like a sword. The bayonet cut clean through the triplet of Psions, sending blood and organs spewing in every direction. The spiraling death did not choose where it wished to spill blood, only that it desired for more. A thick black fluid splattered across the coat tails of the Warlock's robe, as he emerged from the dervish of his lethal dance. More corpses piled on, but it still wasn't enough. It would never be enough. The Cabal presented themselves as an invincible war machine, marching against the beast of death. Even such ideals that might make any other quiver, did nothing in the face of the Cabal.

Erasmus stood at the precipice of darkness, leaning over into the sea of madness. The madness that was the marching Cabal. "I slaughter their kin and they come to avenge. They throw themselves at me and I kill, and it is still not enough for them." Erasmus stated. By now, he had killed countless Cabal. It seemed that the marching warriors would never give up... but they did. The tanks and the legions began to pull out of the Forgotten Shore, as if afraid of a single Warlock who stood against the tide. Such was not the case, but Erasmus preferred to think so.

"They're retreating? I thought the Cabal didn't have a word for that." Cassius spoke, glaring over the distant armies of the alien horde as they began to disappear into the Mothyards and the Terrestrial Complex. It had seemed that the Cabal decided that a frontal assault was fruitless, perhaps because of the madness of one Warlock, or the fear of an angry Warmind. Whatever the reason was, they vanished and left Erasmus, Cassius and hundreds of Cabal corpses alone within the shore.

<Hmmm...Hey, I think I have an idea!> His Ghost said, before whizzing past the Titan's cover. It swarmed past the Valus, catching it's attention as it hovered around him. It seemed confused, and eventually, the Cabal soldier fired rockets in an attempt to kill the Ghost. It moved upwards and through a average-sized crack in the wall.

      Bang.

The shot pierced the soldier's helmet and left him reeling back. It was staggering, an easy target for the Titan. But, one more move could seal the deal.

"Hunter! Golden Gun, or whatever the heck you do!"

    • "Artemis! And I was wondering when you'd ask!"

She reached into the sky and pulled out the Golden Gun. She loved the feeling of Solar Light. All warm and soft and accurate.

Three shots pierced the face of the Valus. It grunted, as the last bit of its strength fell away. In that moment, Valus Vu'usa fell.

Artemis triple-jumped into the center of the room. "No time for talk. We need to get to the Hierus!"

However, she decided to take the opportunity to grab some loot.

    • The Forgotten Shore had cleaned out in a matter of minutes, perhaps as the Cabal retreated in order to renew their assault at a later time. Losing so many of their numbers to one Guardian was shameful, especially for an intergalatic warmongering race who's sole duty it was to wage war across multiple fronts. Granted, Erasmus did not consider himself an ordinary Guardian. Studying Cabal anatomy gave him insight into their weaknesses. Suddenly, Cassius appeared with something to report. It interrupted the Warlock's silent musings of the nature of the universe, or whatever it was that Warlocks thought about when they were alone.

"Picking up some scattered Guardian chatter. Looks like they're locked in an intense battle with a Cabal Valus." Just as he was speaking, the rather loud death cry of a Cabal soldier erupted across the communication line. "... or they *were* fighting a Valus."

"Just tell me where they are. I feel the need to meet with these moronic light-wielders." Erasmus lowered his pulse rifle onto his back; the maglocks interwoven into his robe attracted the metal of the weapon, and locked it firmly into place.

"Dock 13, sir. Seems like the Cabal have dug in pretty deep all over the Cosmodrome." Cassius replied, turning towards Erasmus and blinking with a single, luminous gold eye.

"Summon my Sparrow." As Erasmus said this, his Sparrow was transmatted in aside of him; mounting it, he gripped the throttle and twisted the pedals. The engine flared up with intense heat and before long, he took off towards the Mothyards, expecting to take a round-about trip towards the destination of Dock 13.

    • Ves' Ghost came out of its crack, the Brave Shell reflecting the blue light from its eye. <The Valus is dead...Nice work! But Artemis is right, we need to find the Hierus.>

"Right then...First, though.." He says, smirking from within his helmet. He grabbed Vu'usa's helmet, intact, but with the bullet from the Hereafter stuck within it. Holding onto it, the Titan followed suit with the Hunter.

    • Artemis strode ahead of Vesuvius, folding a large Burning Legion- styled banner over her arm. It was made of a smooth, lightweight, and strong material- perfect for a cloak. She held the folded piece up in her hand and her Ghost transmatted it into her Vault. She glanced around for the other Guardian, the Warlock that had charged in minutes earlier.

"Hey, there, Warlock. Welcome to the party."

Suddenly, the sound of Harvester engines reverberated through the walls. Some rocks fell from the ceiling, and dust trickled from the Cabal pillars.

"Let's get moving, you two. Never killed a Hierus before."

    • (Well, sorry for not posting yesterday, computer still broken :( Using school computer)

Rize moved quickly, but he was very cautiously. He pulled out his Sniper Rifle, waiting if the Cabal would come near the doors.

      <Well, we're near a Hierus. >

"I kinda already know, thanks though."

Rize quickly popped in and out of his sights. As he was doing that, he would look around the place, trying to find a better cover. Suddenly, a massive door was opening.

<Well, all hellmouth is about to... >

"I fricking don't need puns right know."

Rize aimed down his sights very tight as the door was slowly opening, yet all he could see was just somke. Rize clinched his weapon tightly, waiting for the beast to come out.

    • (We have to pursue the Hierus to his Harvester. We aren't going to kill him this early on!)

The large doors opened to reveal a hallway that clearly led up to a launch pad. A beefy-looking Harvester colored bright orange with glowing red symbols on its sides had fired up its engines and was revving to escape, already hovering midair. On instinct, Artemis snatched the 1000-Yard Stare off her back and fired 4 shots. Two into the massive grenade-launching cannon, and two into the closest ship engine. The flames sputtered, and the Harvester drifted to the side, colliding with the concrete wall.

"Move! We can't let it escape!" Artemis yelled at Vesuvius and the mystery Warlock.

    • "They're mostly staying still. Fresh contact with the Cabal incoming." Cassius stated through the Warlock's HUD.

Erasmus raced through the Mothyards with ease, and passed into the Steppes. His sparrow weaved in and out of the various rock formations that dotted the landscape of the Cosmodrome. It hadn't taken him too long to end up at the front entrance to Dock 13. Dismounting his sparrow, Erasmus pulled out his Red Death and prepared for what he expected to be a heavy opposition. He could already hear the shouting in the distance, but it sounded like the Cabal were attempting to flee. It fell in line with their retreat from the shores.

Erasmus sprinted into Dock 13 and seemingly ignored the presence of the other Guardians; clenching his left fist, the hand ignited with void light. He immediately cast this density of energy outward towards the launch pad, striking the Mega Harvester across the left flank. Void energy ripped through the metal and caused some Legionaries to tumble out, ejected from the personnel carrier. After launching his Nova Bomb, Erasmus took cover at the flank of the doorway and took potshots towards the target. "Just shoot them, you baffoons!"

    • Click. Click, Click.

No shots from Hereafter came to stop the ship. Knowing he wasted his ammunition on the Valus, the Titan pulled out the Answering Chord and shot at the ship's engines, hoping to crash the ship.

There was plenty of questions circling in his mind. Who are these other voices I keep hearing? Where is the Burning Legion mobilizing next?

Dangerous thinking, Ves. Just keep shooting things and let's try not to die too much.

    • As the Harvester came to stop, he quickly scanned the dropship's weaknesses. He sighted in his LDR 5001 right to the Harvester's cannons.

      Bang. Bang. Bang.

Rize tried firing the Sniper Rifle at the cannons, one of the bullets hit the cannons, but as soon as he did that, it started firing rockets, and all were aimed right to him.

      <TAKE COVER! >

Rize quickly hid behind the covers, all but one rocket missed him, but the last rocket exploded near Rize, which sent him flying through the air. He quickly glided to slow him from hitting the wall.

Okay Rize, Rize thought to himself, Lets not die too early.

    • As the massive sphere of Void energy tore through the armor plating of the Harvester, Artemis could not help but think- not another Warlock! One was enough. But two bickering back and forth about the capabilities of this and the anatomy of that was going to be maddening.

However, she couldn't deny his usefulness in what may have been a fight against the Hierus of the Burning Legion.

Suddenly, to everyone's suprise, a massive shockwave spread from the Harvester, knocking everyone down on their backs. The ship seemed to be repairing itself from within, and was flying steadier every moment. The engines heated up, and the ship boosted out of the Dock, taking some of the roof with it.

Before the Guardians could gain their bearings, the Harvester had jumped out of the area. However, the fight had not been in vain. Dead Cabal lay so thick over the ground it was difficult not to step on them. A Legionary grunted its dying breaths.

Artemis swore under her breath. "They got away."

She surveyed the area and decided to ask some questions.

"First of all, who the hell are you two?"She yelled, gesturing at the two Warlocks. The Huntress removed her helmet, determining the threats to be gone, also placing the 1000-Yard Stare into the maglocks on her back..

    • Removing the bullet stuck in Vu'usa's helmet, the Titan sat on a crate. "Yeah, Warlocks. We'd like to know...Unless you're too mysterious for us."

Ves' Ghost buzzed from within his HUD. <Incoming message for you, Ves.>

Seemingly surprised, Ves removed himself from the crates. "Excuse me, then. Must be the Vanguard, giving us info on the Hierus' movements."

When out of sight of the scattered Fireteam, the Ghost revealed himself. <That was the biggest lie you ever told.>

"What? I was half-right. It's Cryus giving me the info."

      <Whatever you say.>

      Crackling, the voice finally spoke.

"Ves, my old friend...Manage to get a away from the Fireteam?"

"Yeah, I told them you were the Vanguard. Where's the Hierus heading next?"

"Umm...Well, we don't know that yet. Scorch Hunter troops are working on it, I promise."

"You've got me over a barrel here. If they know I don't know the information, then they'll assume the Vanguard didn't know, God forbid, and they'll get suspicious."

"Relax. It's one problem with you, you think too much in the wrong times. The Hierus will be met with Scar and Scorch opposition, from within bunkers around the Solar System."

"You sure that's going to hold out?"

"I know so. Plus, Va'akirn is reaching out to other Cabal forces. Ones we don't know are hostile, yet. We'll be okay. By the way, prepare a warning, in the off chance your Fireteam meets Frontier forces. We don't want any unnecessary casualties."

"I don't know if I can do that. Our Huntress is a little trigger happy, and the two Warlocks, I don't even know their names.."

..."I'll contact Cayde about the problem, then, without Zavala's knowledge, of course. He still hate the Frontier's plan?"

      "Yessir."

"Ah. Well, good luck, Ves...Say, you killed that Valus, right? Bring me his gun, will you?"

      "Ghost?"

      <Right on it!>
