― In-game description
Thorn is an exotic hand cannon. It used to be acquired by completing the exotic weapon bounty A Light in the Dark. It is currently only obtainable from legacy engrams.
Thorn is one of the Weapons of Sorrow that have been constructed using the Hive's forbidden power.[1] It was augmented by Dredgen Yor after he delved into the dark mysticism of the Hive.[2]

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Cabal Phalanxes can be injured by the Mark of the Devourer damage over time effect even if the dart hits their shield.
- Thorn has overpenetration even if Mark of the Devourer is not yet unlocked.
- Shields do not regenerate while Mark of the Devourer is in effect, making this a good weapon against enemies with high recovery rates.
- Mark of the Devourer used to last for 5 ticks after the most recent shot, but the effect did not stack. In Update 2.0.0, Thorn received a nerf that reduced the amount of DOT received from Mark of the Devourer, but it now stacks for each shot landed.
- Thorn received a buff that increased the magazine size from 6 to 9, increased the reload speed and stability, and increased Mark of the Devourer's effects on PvE enemies.[3]
