Description

This template produces a pre-formatted citation code for information taken from a website, which follows the Destiny Wiki recognized citation format. This template should always be used when sourcing a website.

Syntax

To use this template, simply copy and paste the following code, between two ref tags (<ref>{{RefWebsite|<...>}}</ref>), after the section of information taken from a specified website:

  • And then filling out the appropriate fields by placing the correct information after each tag.
    • Website → The name of the website (e.g. Google, Wikia, etc.)
    • Title → Title of webpage - not website.
    • URL → URL address of webpage. Must contain "http://" to create hyperlink.
    • Accessed → Date when editor accessed the webpage. Layout as DAY MONTH YEAR; e.g. 01 Jan 2013.
  • Website, Title, URL, and Accessed are compulsory fields, meaning that they must be filled out in order for the reference to work.
  • Editors should always try to fill out as many fields as possible, and should always use this template when referencing a website.

Demonstration

Placing the following code into the editor:

The survivors built a city beneath the Traveler.<ref name="">{{RefWebsite
|website=Destiny the Game
|url= http://www.destinythegame.com/info
|title= Game Info
|accessed= 01 April 2013
}}</ref>

Will produce the following in the article text:

The survivors built a city beneath the Traveler.[1]

And will produce the following in the source/reference list at the bottom of the article:

  1. Destiny the Game "Game Info". Retrieved 01 April 2013.
