Not the Vex dead Animation[]
"Joe Staten revealed that this death appears as a massive beam of light escaping from a dying Vex's mouth, designed to evoke the feeling of the dying Vex's soul being, ripped out of its body."
Joe was talking about the Fallens dead animation, not the Vex. As in GDC 2013 Panel , Joes asks what up with the green guy @32:20 mood board not the Red which is the Vex. Also you can see the Fallens souls being ripped from their bodies in the E3 Demo , which can be best seen @05:50. Twomey1993 (talk) 17:08, September 5, 2013 (UTC)
- I think you might be right. Looking at the concept art again, it looks like the red are undoubtedly the Vex, while the green might be either Fallen or Hive (hard to say for sure). There is no doubt that the Bungie employee in the mailsack said that Vex have "one of the coolest deaths in the game," but we don't know one way or the other about which species it is that has its soul ripped out of its body. The E3 demo videos are a little vague, though there does seem to be a brief beam of light when the Fallen are killed. We just don't know for sure whether this is the "soul ripping out of the body" described by Staten. I'll edit for clarity until we know more solid details. Thanks for the heads-up. Triva[]
I think we should create a trivia section noting that all of the Vex classes are named after a mythical creature. Kamikaze839 05:36, July 23, 2014 (UTC)
Done. Added that almost all of them are named after creatures from Greek mythology. Eddmario (talk) 03:09, August 31, 2015 (UTC)
Vex Hierarchy[]
Vex Hierarchy[]
Perhaps the section should be renamed "Vex Species" or "Vex Constructs" Needs to be added:
- Fanatic (as a sub of Goblin?)
- Gate Lord
- Gatekeeper (as a sub of Hydra?)
- Gorgon
- Oracle
- Supplicant (as a sub of Harpy?)
