Please see Destiny Wiki:Citation Policy and my recent post on your wall. There are many older articles on this wiki that still need to have citations added; if you look through the recent changes here you will notice that adding citations has been a major project for us recently. Creating new articles without appropriate citation and citation format causes more work and adds to that backload. Sorry to be a stickler, but we have to be strict about this. If I have time, I'll take a look through the YouTube video and try to find the mention of Colony Ships, but if you already know where it is, it would be appreciated if you could make appropriate citation part of the usual routine when creating/editing articles. Thanks! Foman123 (talk) 04:27, October 8, 2013 (UTC)
The whole darn citation system is broken, do you want me to put a freaking number after every other word? There are actually several references to the colony ships in that video (you seem to be having a hard time believing me, as if you assume the worst of people) first reference is at 04:42 (through 04:57) second reference is at 07:38 and that is it, he also mentions its dutch but I dont know if he is joking or not. ralok (talk) 14:05, October 8, 2013 (UTC)
The citation policy is a necessary and critical element of this fact-based wiki, and has been determined by community consensus to be required for all content. As noted in the Citation Policy, content that is not appropriately cited in accordance with the policy is at risk for deletion. Of course I believe you; the problem is that administrators simply don't have the time to chase down citations and then add the appropriate reference tags for every single new assertion made in every article. It is the responsibility of the author making the assertion to support it with specific references that comply with the policy. It's really not as cumbersome as it seems once you get used to it, and just like Wikipedia, citation and referencing are absolutely, utterly critical to the success, reliability, and credibility of this wiki. Thanks in advance for understanding. Foman123 (talk) 19:58, October 8, 2013 (UTC)
