Axis Minds[]
Vex minds are not limited to Hydra. Goblins, Minotaurs and possibly even Harpy's (not sure about Harpy's though) can come under Axis Minds. Also, the information about Hydra weak points should be on the Hydra article (and the respective boss articles).

- Even though all of them can be "Axis," I don't believe all of them can be Minds. As the Ghost says in Ishtar Collective, "The Vex share one mind across a million units." I don't think it makes much sense for the entity that controls a million units to be a single Goblin. Do you have a source for this? -- Vektor0 (talk) 15:23, December 26, 2014 (UTC)
- Here is a quote from the Prohibitive Mind grimoire card.
- Here is a quote from the Prohibitive Mind grimoire card.
| “ | Vex Axis Minds are individual Vex hulls that contain local instances of superordinate Vex goal sets. This cryptic phrase means something reasonably simple - the Axis Mind contains a copy of all the information required to pursue a particular objective. This allows other nearby Vex to focus on their local tasks, leaving global planning to the Axis Mind. Of course, this also introduces a centralized weakness for enemies to target. But the Vex seem to consider the tradeoff worthwhile. The Prohibitive Mind seems to coordinate Vex action against Cabal positions in Meridian Bay. The current Vex operational plan - to the extent that we assume the Vex have operational plans - appears to involve an attritional campaign on the surface, supplemented by disruptive use of gates to bypass Cabal hardpoints. |
- This grimoire card tells us that Axis Minds arn't limited to boss grade Vex. As for the Goblin controlling millions of Vex units? Perhaps the lower the enemy class, the less control is has over other Vex units. Its challenging to make an accurate description of Axis Minds when Bungie goes and makes them an enemy class (such as Fallen Elders).

- I didn't see anywhere in that text where it mentions anything about the various Vex classes (Goblin, Hydra, etc.) It says that "nearby Vex to focus on their local tasks," which I interpret to mean that individual units are autonomous in smaller-scale tasks (for example, the Mind tells the individual units where to go, and the individual units handle the combat from there).
- Either way though, there are tons of ways that we can speculate about how the Vex work, but nothing should be added to the wiki unless it can be undeniably and inarguably supported by fact and citations. I don't see any concrete evidence to support the claim that non-Hydra Minds exist, so the most we could do is rewrite the article either to say "all known Minds are Hydras" or to not mention classes at all with regard to Minds. -- Vektor0 (talk) 23:57, December 26, 2014 (UTC)
- The Grimoire Cards from Bungie under the Vex Axis Minds category contain Vex Minds that aren't Hydra. Zydron, Gate Lord - Prohibitive Mind - Sol Progeny are all considered Vex Minds in Bungie’s Grimoire categorization (They are all under Vex Axis Minds). At the same time, it might be an idea to acknowledge the Axis (vex type) as a enemy class, for the sake of disambiguation. At least until more lore into how the Vex work is available.
