Sturm is an exotic hand cannon. It can be dismantled to generate Glimmer, Gunsmith Materials, and Legendary Shards.

"Please! You don't understand. I'm supposed to be on that ship."
The guard smiled at Sigrun with gentle condescension. "That's not possible, ma'am."
She understood why he would believe that; all of the colonists had entered cryo two weeks ago, but she could see the crew waving for pictures. They were awake! She could be awake, too. "I'm supposed to be on that ship," she insisted, leaning around the guard. There was still time. She could find whatever horrible cryo-coffin they'd loaded Victor into; she could kneel before it and beg him to forgive her. He wouldn't hear her but he wasn't gone yet—
"I need you to take a step back, ma'am."
"Captain Jacobson!" Sigrun darted past the guard. "I'm a colonist! You can't leave without me!"

Sturm is part of a two-weapon pairing, along with the sidearm Drang. Drang must be obtained first before unlocking the Exotic quest line for Sturm. Perform the following steps:
1. Complete the Destiny 2 main campaign and reach level 20.
2. Travel to Nessus and complete the Exodus Black series of missions. After completing the last mission in this series, "My Captain", you'll receive Drang. Afterwards, a quest item will appear in your Kinetic weapon slot.
3. Travel to the Tower and talk to the Cryptarch. You'll receive the "Relics of the Golden Age" quest item.
4. Complete the Relics of the Golden Age questline. Objectives include Decrypting 5 Legendary Engrams, Decrypting 1 Exotic Engram, and Defeat 10 Fallen on Nessus while using Drang.
5. Visit the Cryptarch to complete the questline. They will direct you to Tyra Karn at The Farm. The quest item will update to a second stage of the Relics of the Golden Age questline.
6. Complete the second stage of the Relics of the Golden Age questline. Objectives include defeating multiple Fallen with Drang without reloading (perform this feat 10 times, killing 2 enemies without reloading is the minimum), and Defeat 10 Powerful (i.e. Named) Fallen using the Drang.
7. Travel back to Trya Karn, who will offer you a new story quest on Prodromus Down on Nessus. There you will need to destroy a named Servitor Kendricks-7. The questline has a power level of 140. Complete the quest.
8. Return to Tyra Karn, who will reward you with a Golden Age Engram, which will decrypt into Sturm.
