Sapphire Wire is a Hunter-exclusive material that can be found in Destiny. It is acquired from dismantling uncommon or higher Hunter armor. Sapphire Wire is used to upgrade rare or higher Hunter armor.
After the release of The Taken King, these materials were no longer used and were replaced by Armor Materials. Guardians' existing Sapphire Wire can be traded for Armor Materials by Roni 55-30.[1]
