Rise of Iron is a downloadable content (DLC) expansion pack for Destiny.[2] It became available at 2 AM (Pacific Time Zone)[3] on September 20, 2016 for $29.99 USD.[2] It is the first Destiny DLC not available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.[2]
Players who pre-order Rise of Iron were given access to two exclusive items: the Iron Gjallarhorn[2] and the Iron Gjallarwing.[4] These items can be obtained from quests.[2] Players who did not pre-order Rise of Iron can still obtain the non-exclusive Gjallarhorn and Gjallarwing.
Plot[]
About a hundred years ago, the Iron Lords sacrificed themselves to contain SIVA, a technological plague.[2] The Fallen House of Devils has unearthed the plague and used it to augment themselves and become more powerful.[1][2] Lord Saladin rallies the Guardians to fight against and contain the re-emerged threat and become the next generation of Iron Lords.[2]
