Spinmetal leaves, a type of material found in Old Russia.
A material is an item that can be obtained by players either randomly in certain locations or by breaking down other items such as weapons and armor.[1] Materials can be bought from vendors in the Tower for Vanguard Marks or Crucible Marks.[2]
Ascendant Materials
Ascendant materials are used to upgrade Legendary weapons and armor. There are two ascendant materials:
Dismantle Materials
Some materials can only be obtained by dismantling equipment, three of which can only come from class specific armors. They are used in upgrading their respective weapons and armor. They are:
- Hadronic Essence (Warlock armor)
- Plasteel Plating (Titan armor)
- Sapphire Wire (Hunter armor)
- Weapon Parts (Weapon)
- Exotic Shard (Exotic Gear)
Radiant Materials
Radiant materials are used to upgrade weapons and armor obtained from the Crota's End raid in The Dark Below.[3] They can be obtained during the raid and from dismantling gear obtained in the raid.[3] There are two radiant materials:
Resources
Resources are materials used to upgrade Legendary and Exotic weapons and armor. Resources can be collected while on missions or patrols, or purchased from the Vanguard Quartermaster, for Vanguard Marks, or the Crucible Quartermaster, for Crucible Marks, at a rate of 10 marks for 20 materials. There are four resources, each of which can only be found on one planet or moon:
