The Lucent Brood is a sect of the Hive. They are Hive that are able to wield The Light through Hive Ghosts led by Immaru, the Ghost of Savathûn. They are distinguished by grey chitin on their armor and Hive Lightbearers have white chitin with different elements of the Light glowing on their eyes.
History[]
Savathûn became the first Hive to wield the Light after the exorcism ritual was performed by the Awoken Techeuns with success. Immaru became the First Ghost of the Lucent Brood after he brought Savathûn back from death after she died near the Last City. Over time, before the Guardian arrived into Savathûn's Throne World, she used the oubliette to learn how to wield the Light while serving the Sword Logic. After the Guardian learned that the Hive were able to wield the Light, they would work alongside The Hidden to uncover some clues along with a turncoat Hive Ghost named Fynch. It was revealed that The Traveler willingly gave Savathûn the Light and that she plans to move it into her throne world using the power she borrowed from The Witness. The Guardian stopped her, and in her absence, Immaru became the de facto leader of the Lucent Brood. Some sects such as the Grasp of Nokris were integrated into the Lucent Brood thanks to Savathûn's previous partnership with Nokris. They were encountered on Titan after it returned to the system, where they attempted to resurrect Oryx with a Hive Ghost, as well as the Pale Heart, where they were established after the Witness retreated to the monolith to complete its vision of the Final Shape. The Lucent Brood became temporary allies of the Coalition in the final battle against the Witness, culminating in its death and the Echoes being created from a collision of Light and Darkness.
