Dessicated and nigh-inoperable this Hive artifact still manages to send shivers up your spine when fired.
― In-game description

Husk of the Pit is a basic auto rifle added in The Dark Below. It can be obtained from killing a Blade of Crota. It can be upgraded to Eidolon Ally by obtaining the "Cannibalism" talent, which can then be upgraded into Necrochasm using a Crux of Crota.

Husk of the Pit only earns experience from killing Hive.

Trivia

  • Even though it is an auto rifle, the HUD icon is that of a pulse rifle.
  • At some point after Update 1.2.0, a bug caused Husk of the Pit to no longer drop from Blades of Crota.[1] Update 1.2.0.5 fixed this bug and increased drop rates by 150%.
  • Cannibalism previously required an Embalming Orb to activate. Update 2.0.0 removed the Embalming Orb for purchase and removed it as a requirement to activate Cannibalism.
