Concept art of the Exo species in Destiny.

Exo are a player species in Destiny. Exos are pre-Collapse machines that have been rebooted, causing their memories and original purpose to disappear. Because of this, they come off as sinister and tireless. They have been described by Bungie as "sinister, powerful, and tireless."[1]

Design and Inspiration

In terms of player design, Bungie drew its inspiration for the Exo from such sources as the Master Chief, The Terminator, and the undead.[1]
