Due to the confusion that multiple accounts cause to the community and administrators multiple accounts are prohibited; only one account per user. Users found in possession of more than one account will have their alternative account(s) blocked indefinitely, and their original account blocked for a period of time based on the number of accounts and the severity of their actions on those accounts. Sock puppet accounts are subject to similar punishment.
Exceptions to this policy exist where administrators possess a bot account, or where users wish to switch accounts due to a naming, email, or password dispute. In these cases, users must contact and warn an administrator that they are in possession of more than one account and for what reason. Users who have made a new account due to name change, email loss, or password loss will have their original account disabled to prevent abuse.
