The Destiny 2 Open Beta was a free, open-to-all beta test of Destiny 2, available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and later for PC in the summer of 2017.[1]
Access and Timing[]
The open beta was available to all at a certain time, but those who pre-ordered the game gained early access. Players who pre-ordered physical PlayStation 4 and Xbox One copies of Destiny 2 received beta access codes from their retailers, but players who pre-ordered digital copies were able to download and launch the beta without a code.[2]
The early access console beta was available on July 18 for those who pre-ordered on PlayStation 4 and July 19 for those who pre-ordered on Xbox One.[1] On July 21, the beta was opened to all players on both platforms.[1] The beta ended for all console players on July 25,[3] after being extended from the original ending date of July 23.[1]
Early access for the PC beta started on August 28 for those who pre-ordered the PC version of Destiny 2.[4] The PC beta was then opened to everyone on August 29 and ended for everyone on August 31.[4]
