A clan is a group of players that are all under one banner there clan banner your clan banner can give you effect if your clans level.
Clans can receive 4 engrams weekly from doing different activities with each other. Those activities are: Trials of the Nine, The Raid, The Crucible, and The Nightfall you can purchase clan bounties and get clan engrams from Suraya Hawthorne located at the Tower (Destiny)
How to start a clan[]
To make a new clan and not join an already existing clan you will need a bungie.net account. first you must go to the bungie.net clan creation page or the destiny companion app then scroll to the bottom. you will need to fill in things like your clan's name and motto. These can help introduce players that don't know you personally. The short hand section is an abbreviation of your clan's name and will show next to your name in activities like crucible and gambit. Once you've chosen your clan's name and motto, click on the button on the bottom to go to your clan's main menu. If you're using the destiny companion app it will give you the same information, but it will be split among a few different pages.
Destiny 2[]
In Destiny 2, clans will be able to customize their own banners and earn group rewards.[1] The Guided Games feature allows clans to host a group that solo players can then join.[1]
