Can anyone answer this for me? If i do weekly strike and go to orbit mid way can i continue from where i was up to or do i have to start all over again?

Yes and no. In one week, you can earn one Armor Core for completing the level 32 Prison of Elders challenge and another from completing the level 35 Prison of Elders challenge. This will give you two Armor Cores in one week.
You cannot earn two Armor Cores just for completing the same activity twice in one week.

Bear in mind, the rewards Vektor mentioned above are per-character. If you have three characters capable of completing the level 35 challenge of Prison, you will get a total of 6 armor cores (and 6 weapon cores) per week. These can be put into the vault and exchanged between characters, if needed.
