Ascend is an upgrade for legendary and exotic weapons and armor that increases them to the maximum available power in Destiny's first year.[1] Weapons and armor can be ascended to 170 Attack or Defense respectively.[1] Ascending a legendary item requires one Etheric Light, 20 resources, and 750 Glimmer. Ascending an exotic item requires one Exotic Shard, 25 dismantle materials, and 1500 Glimmer.[1] Ascending became available upon release of the expansion House of Wolves.[1]
