( Unfortunately, I'm going to have to drop out and for a lot of reasons. First, I have a pretty busy schedule, juggling work and school. And secondly, I don't post as often as you guys do and am ending up being oblivious as to what's going on. Lastly, and I know this is going to sound stupid, but I really don't have a significant purpose of being involved. Sorry, guys. Enjoy. )
Throughout the entirety of the dilemma at hand, Rhys remained mostly stoic. Unmoving from her distant position near Arxus, hands tucked behind her back as she stood straight and silent. So silently that perhaps some of the gathered people had forgotten her unsettling presence hovering within the room. She had nothing important to discuss, as she had already, and rather bluntly at that, explained her involvement in the situation. The slender, quiet women just listened patiently. Too patiently for her sometimes hot-tempered self.
Whilst part of her battled with her irritated conscience, another was slightly relieved that she had joined Arxus. Relieved because she knew what was going on all around them. Had she still been elsewhere, the situation would have been a lot more confusing and would have likely increased her mellow agitation. But nobody questioned her and her eerily silent demeanor, nor her lack of movement. Some just peeked over before averting their gazes elsewhere.
An eternity, although in reality was only minutes, she arrived at the Tower. Some acknowledged her presence, with its ominously unsettling vibe, while some continued on with their daily lives as if they were unaware of her mere existence. But she cared not. She hardly cared about the matter at hand in the first place, though, with much mental reluctance, knew that it needed to be handled properly. Without knowing much in the first place, she already knew where Arxus could have disappeared to, so she started her brief journey to find him.
Once she arrived at the Hall of Champions, she slowed her brisk pace and made her presence known by clearing her throat. Before she could be questioned on what exactly she needed or desired, she spoke. "I involved myself with this whole thing, seeing as I near decapitated the Vex that attacked him." She gestured nonchalantly towards Arxus and strolled up next to him, but kept her distance respectably as she disliked being within a two foot reach of other people.
The second he left, she started having second thoughts. Never had she been one to... socialize much with others, even before her recent traumatization. Turning swiftly, the young hunter maneuvered hurriedly from her recent post, rummaging through her overwhelming thoughts. Chance manifested above her right shoulder, before briskly moving around to hover before her. A single, icy optic stared straight at her, questioningly although scoldingly. "You know, it would be wrong of you to just.. abandon this." Lowering her weapon, she exhaled deeply in attempt to calm herself. He had caught her in the act of ditching the mission she had just offered.
The Hunter simply stood and stared, rolling her eyes from inside her helmet. Just as she was about to protest against her somewhat rebellious Ghost, she sighed a groan and a single word along with it. "Fine." With that, her figure dissolved into that of nothingness, only to reappear within the confines of her ship. Though, he still watched her. "You did the right thing." He offered, hoping to raise her hopes. But instead, he received silence. The ship took off, leaving her mind to wander through every known possibility.
For but a moment, she pondered about whether or not she'd join him. The idea of tagging along with other Guardians never really appealed to her much after the death of her dearest friend. Though, she figured that this danger she had involved herself in would be worthy of her presence. Questions on how the creature was killed might arise, thus involving her anyways as she near decapitated it with a single sniper round. "I suppose sticking around might be.." Pausing, she searched for an appropriate word for the situation at hand, before then continuing her sentence. ".. necessary."
Instead of joining him at his side, she kept her distance and watched him. He had never seen her face, as she found it more suitable that she kept her helmet on at all times, save for times she spent alone. It had nothing to do with self-consciousness, but the fact that she found it unnecessary to remove it. Despite having decided against revealing herself, it was clear on where she had originated due to her rich, Irish accent. It was almost difficult to understand what she was saying if she spoke too quickly.
From her lightly cracked lips slipped an inaudible sigh. Standing from her crouched position, the female nonchalantly wandered towards the edge of the rather insecure awning, of which groaned creaking complaints beneath her petite weight. Sniper still clutched in her hands, she leapt from said awning and allowed her figure to become wholly embraced by gravity, of which quickly pulled her towards the snowy ground. On her way down, and so that gravity could not bring harm to her by pulling her to the ground too quickly, she landed upon a slender, slightly downwards bent beam with a gentle thud. From there, she slipped and landed gracefully upon the snow-dusted concrete.
It took but a small amount of time to reach Arxus, but she refrained from greeting him immediately as she spoke very little to begin with. Instead, she stood before the dead Vex to briefly examine its now motionless frame. But yet, more silence followed. Rhys, especially after the unfortunate death of her friend, had returned to her reserved, closed shell. She had come across Arxus only a few times, but they had only spoken a few words. Eventually, to prevent the situation from becoming awkward, she spoke. "You're welcome."
"A little to the left." Whispered Chance, the Ghost hovered slightly above her right shoulder. His azure optic peered down the barrel of the sniper clutched in her petite, gloved hands. One knee bent up and the opposing foot planted firmly upon the steel of the vast awning of which she remained perched, she adjusted her aim accordingly until the crosshairs rested over the Vex's head. In the distance, an older acquaintance struggled with the relentless Vex. Said acquaintance just so happened to be Arxus. Despite her emotionless, rather bitter demeanor, she wasn't about to let the filthy creature win.
From inside her helmet, her tongue traced over the dry, minute crevices of her chapped lips. Her index finger situated itself against the trigger and she allowed it to curl to accommodate its exact width before she cocked it back. The rather bulky round whistled through the bitter air, effortlessly ripping through the Vex's head, near blowing it off entirely. Disfigured shards of metal dropped onto the softly snow-blanketed ground, whilst the Vex halted and dropped. "Good work." Said her Ghost, before vanishing into thin air. She exhaled calmly and lowered her aim, peering down at the two.
( This is my character sheet.

Biography: Born out of Ireland, Rhys didn't get to see much of the world before the Collapse hit. Much of her life before then was unknown, and even to this day she remains much of a mystery to others. After being resurrected as a Hunter, she quickly set off to prove herself and became quite adept with the sniper rifle, perhaps having previous knowledge of it. She had befriended quite a bit of people since her awakening, including a young Warlock. She started opening up more, becoming friendlier.
Rhys was there when Crota fell and saw her Warlock friend fall there as well. She descended back into her reclusive shell, distraught and broken. Only from the help of Cayde was she able to pick herself up again, and the Hunter Vanguard became pretty close friends with her as a result. Though the harsh reality of the dangerous lives of Guardians has left her bitter, and untrusting of strangers. Only recently, following the events of the Taken War, has she started to work with Arxus Essal, despite her initial reluctance to do so. )
Thank you, everybody. And yes, Shadow, that raid was pretty bad. )
