The coarse dust crunched underneath her boots as Eris approached the body of the Witch Queen. She knelt down, observing the shell that was Savathûn’s original body still; Eris knew that part of the Hive God’s soul was still intact… and still within her cold body.
She drew an incantation from her mind, which by this time had been an index of Hive lore and most importantly; anatomy. She’d spent many years on the moon, capturing and harvesting the Hive — pulling apart their bony frameworks to find what she needed.
This effort was about to pay off.
Still muttering incantations, she pulled a knife from her boot and pulled Savathûn’s body closer to her. As she finished her incantation, she plunged her knife into the once powerful figure’s chest. She tore her flesh apart, looking for a component she had discovered within the hearts of Wizards, and other powerful Hive. Eventually, she was able to extract the piece.
All Hive had a component within their bodies, one that no human, awoken, or exo, had a name for. In her mind she only thought of it as ‘The Piece.’ It glowed a dark purple as Eris stuffed it into her bag. She pulled the God’s bones from her body, and walked away from it. She turned and set it on fire, using a nearby torch.
When she arrived at her camp, she began to assemble a new weapon. She’d taken an old Hand Cannon she’d found during her first years on the moon, and infused it with the piece she’d extracted. Then, she surrounded the glowing piece with Savathûn’s bones. It was ready. She sent a message to the Guardian.
“Here. I thought you should have it; seeing as you killed her.”
“What is it? It feels… off.” a robotic voice said.
”Fear not, little ghost. This will prove useful when you hunt down the last of the three; Xivu Arath.”
“Thank you.” The Guardian said. Eris noticed a small glint of excitement in the Guardian’s eyes.
A glint of Darkness.
As the guardian walked away, Eris began murmuring to herself once again, though this time, it was no incantation.
She muttered the Song she would never unhear.
Ok that’s it for the lore Tab! Let me know if you want me to make this into a complete Lore Book. Hope you enjoyed!
