Sara stood by as Arxus delivered his report, preparing her own mentally as she kept her arms locked behind her back. As Commander Zavala excused Arxus, she stepped forward slowly as the Commander analysed her slowly. "Sara Oray reporting, Commander." She spoke calmly, waiting for a response from Zavala.
The Commander then spoke: "Yes, thank you Sara. As I have been collecting reports from Major Boris, Scythe and from Arxus—it now comes the time to collect your report. I would like to start on Luna if we may, you were deployed to stop the Bones from collecting a few remains of Enxor with the rest of Theasus, yes?"
"Yes sir. We descended into the Hellmouth in search for these remains. When we arrived, we had to deal with an ogre which the head Wizard had sacrified itself to in order to create a distraction. It worked, and they managed to seize the pieces. We then worked our way back to the surface, where..."
"You were attacked by this cult." Zavala finished, staring at Sara as he waited for her to continue. But the past horrors and nightmares crept across her mind, causing her to stutter as she offered whatever details she felt comfortable with. But it was apparent to anyone listening that there was something terrible that had happened.
"They had me face my nightmares... all my Fireteam's and others deaths because of me, because I let them have their weaknesses." Sara paused, "I woke up again aboard the Blades' Ketch, but I physically was incapable of moving afterwards. My fears had gotten the best of me."
"I see." Zavala provided, closing his eyes before turning his head to his side. He took in a deep breath, before he soon turned back to Sara. "If you are uncomfortable at this time, Sara—then perhaps it would be best to discuss later."
"No need, sir." Sara said, trying her best to remain calm and strong. She bore the Mark of the Voidborn now, and so it had become her responsibility to become as strong as any chain in the void chainmail.
"When I arose again, the Cult and the Bones of Enxor managed their way onto our ship. I fought back, and eventually the order was given out by Major Boris to make way towards Ceres."
"And did you?"
"Yes, but I did not go against Enxor. I remained to keep back Hive that could potentially had overcome the other Guardians position. When they defeated Enxor, I helped them out of the pit and provided cover for Major Boris while he helped to evacuate Orkrim. We headed back to the Blade Ketch, and made a voyage back to the City." Sara concluded, looking straight at Zavala as he nodded his head.
"Thank you, Sara. Quite a big step you have taken, from running simple strikes and missions to helping to destroy a Hive God. It certainly wasn't easy, and you have had your fair share of trials from doing so—but remember what it means to be a Titan. To uphold the dream of the City on our shoulders, to defend the City by holding the wall against the Darkness that threatens to end our light. The City thanks you, I thank you for what you have done. You deserve some rest now, Sara. Take it while you can, then report back to me." Zavala concluded.
Sara made a snap salute, before she turned on a heel and marched away. It felt good to be complimented and thanked by Zavala like that, especially since it was the first time she had been. She smiled while she could, and stepped out into the plaza of the City once more.
